I always tought TJ's were limted to 210, the speedo showed 215, i wasn't driving...but really how true is a speedo at that speed...can see some huge flame war about to start....
217km/h at redline in top gear, comfirmed by a gps.

Everytime Ive tried it the speedo has always read 215k/hr, with still 2000 revs to push out.... but saying that I dont think the standard motor will push much past the 215k mark... maybe 220 but yeh not much

My old auto TF sat at an indicated 215kph on the dyno, but speedo accuracy gets worse the higher the speed. Everywhere I have read all 3rd Gen Magnas are factory limited to 210kph (hence the H speed rating on the tyres).
If I remember correctly from an article I read that interviewed some Mitsubishi Engineer, without limiters the 3.5's (not sure on the 3.0's) would top out at around 240kph.
I remember seeing a video of Booya's Turbo TE doing 280kph with more to go....lol that would have been scary.
268 kph with GPS/g-tech/dyno/stopwatch/lasergun reading to prove it.
Nah seriously though the speedo reading at those speeds would be very innacurate as would GPS.
You'd need a laser/radar to get an accurate reading of speed.

i pullled off at 180km/h on a "private property" as my car started shaking, thinking it was the result on of shonky tyres.

I've delimited both my Verada and my Pulsar GTiR. The Verada goes over 250kms. The GTiR will now push 180mph. I did this so neither would lean out, rather than the speed. (Both were tested on a racetrack)

i got my 2.4 hitting 190K's up the bush a while ago, it seemed like it wasnt going to much further but would have hit 200k if i kept on pushing!!
on the drags i crossed at 167km/hr and was still pullin hard hehe
i got mine just off the clock on private property once or twice but not sure how acurate that is. mine doesnt seem to cut out at 220 haha

yeah mine cuts out at 210, seems like it would keep going heaps more too if it wasnt there so i see what you mean 'phonic', damn the bloody tall gears though, hits the speed limiter in 3rd gear GRR

I've done an indicated 220kph on a publicly owned private property in a public area of a private road which I accessed through a padlocked gate which was when it hit the fuel cut.
I want to reach at least 250kph one day in something. Preferably a full stand still to 250kph run in a big fat euro sedan would be nice.

From an article I read a while back, a Mitsu engineer says the 3.5L stock-as-a-rock will max out at 256km/h, that is of course not possible with the limiters we have.

Limiters? I wasn't aware we had them? I took it 235k's in my TF before I started to run out of road :P

tf, 3ltr, 5 spd, stock - 240km/h all day and never missed a beat,
done in nt open speed limits, did have proof, but my camera got stolen by a usless

thats speed limiter at 240, still have 500 rpm left to go in 5th.

Mine's not stock anymore. Just delimit your thing and uprate the fuelpump, modify the injectors and use a German ECU. Then you will have all the proof you need. Takes almost forever to pull from 230 to 250 though, so I hope you have access to an airstrip like I did. Took a while to sort out the MAS though - stupid MMC idea that is!!
It wasn't too hard, but I've been playing with racecars for over 20 years now. I can't just leave things stock.
Sadly, the things not a patch on the Pulsar for top end.

Guys don't forget the higher the speed the higher the error margin for the speedos. Sure your speedo might show 230+, but it doesn't mean the car is actually doing this speed. Proper speed measuring equipment is needed for an accurate reading.

Right, I don't have proof. I'm running an Apexi S AFC, Walbro 65psi fuel pump, 3.8l injectors and a 7th injector with a 70hp Zex 10oz setup. So OK, I cheated. And it took over 2kms to get it there. I just wanted it to run 1/2 as well as my Nissan Pulsar, but it won't. I will probably return it to stock before I shatter the dodgy Mitsubishi transmission (not a MMAL strongpoint, autos), so back to the 210km cutout. I'll go back to playing with the much more rapid Pulsar, and keep this as my daily. Nissans are so much easier to modify, thanks to Nismo. Pity Ralliart aren't as supportive of the whole range.

I was having a gander at some car vs car tests the other day, (XR8 v Ralliart, HSV of some description v random other "performance car" etc etc) and I reckon i saw that the standard 3.5L VRX speed cuts at 213km/h and the ralliart at around 235km/h. I'll see if i can find it again, I think it was on Drive.com or something...

DOes anyone else with the stock 15s find that at about 140-150 your car starts to shake? Highest Ive taken my TF to is 160 and by then the car was shaking a bit so I backed off.

It's probably got nothing to do with the wheels being stock 15's. Much more likely a balance or alignment issue.

i had no dramas with my original 15's till it got wet and aqua planned through a forest. but no shaking, car sat real smooth. that was at my top speed, i claim 240 as that what speedo read out, and it seems accurate anough cause it matched what i got clocked at on saturday doing 120, but no shaking at any stage.

THe ones mounted in the cars can be but if he got hit by a stationary gun then I think its fair to say its accurate. The guns are like 99.3% accurate (or something like that i know its 99 point something)
Got mine to 235kph according to the speedo but doubt that its that accurate. Oh well

And TL-R, dude settle down. Have you driven this blokes car? No. So you'd have no idea how fast it goes. Read what he said. His removed the limiter, hence, allowing it to go FASTER!

Could this by any chance be the Motor 'Performance car of the Year 2003' DVD?
(That is, PCOTY performed early 2003 for cars released in 2002).
If so, they did a top speed run in a red Ralliart Magna at Avalon and from memory hit the limiter.
Edit: Rolliart, if this is the dvd and you cannot provide Disciple with a copy, I should be able to.

i got my old TH up to about 205kmh before i ran out of road. the previous owner had said it cut out at 210kmh.
my r33 skyline i got up to about 240kmh (6500rpm in 5th gear, rev limiter is 7500) before it got to a point where it was accelerating really slow, and it has 300hp. up to about 220-230 wasn't a problem, it was just like it was going from 130-140, but once it got to 240 it just sat there and was SLOWLY creeping up, then i ran out of road (about 1.5km from standing start (although i didn't floor it till i got to 100kmh) to when i hit the brakes.
