To the best of my knowledge, there are no brackets in the doors. In all the ones I've seen, the door trims were taken off and round holes cut in the lower portions of the trims for the speakers. The speakers were then mounted to the trims and the trims put back on. The trim backing is only masonite so it is not real strong but seems adequate.

You're right about the stock speakers!!

The other alternative is in the back parcel shelf.

Yeah make up some pods or something. The **** thing is that there is metal right behind where it would be perfect for the speakers

I tried to replace ther stock speakers once. Ended up buying a new wind sheild

yeh theres no bracket, i just cut a small hole in my door, then used thick mdf for my custom door trims so they sit out a bit

The parcel shelf can take 6" pioneers, it's where I have mine. There are semi cut out spots that you will have to open up properly and then cut the fabric with a razor blade.

You will have to run your own wires however.

yeah its a wagon wit speakers only in the back... the point of buying him speakers is so that people dont go deaf sitting in the back while he stugles to hear it...

Ok, in that case you have no option but to put them in the front doors.

I forgot to mention that the door trim is the easy part. As Gemini said, there is metal in the doors behind the trims. There are holes in the doors but not in the right place and not the right size or shape, so you have to hack or drill away some of the metal to enlarge the holes to clear the backs of the speakers.

A nibbling tool might do the job. I can tell you it is hard work with a hacksaw blade. The picture below will give you some idea of what you are up against.

Or you could follow mad lanté's example and raise the speakers out slightly from the door.

I just put some door pods off a VR commodore on mine. Direct bolt on mod and they match pretty well with the grey interior.

The ones from a VR aren't quite a bold on, atleast with the map pockets still attached aobut 2 inches too long, although not too hard to cut a little out. But ur right, they match up quite nicely, look almost like a factory piece.
