hey all,

I want to put a second amp and some splits in my magna but the dilemma is which to buy first (the new amp will power my sub and my old amp will be used for the splits). Now my question is do splits NEED and amp? or could I get by without one till I get the second amp?

all depends...
if you have a standard deck, then the splits will be a good upgrade on the stock speakers running of the deck.
if you have a good after market deck with an inbuilt amp, say 4x35-50W, should sound good
but if you really want great sound, then it would need an dedicated amp to run the splits

yea I have a aftermarket HU, I just wanted check that I could actually run them off the head unit, cause it'll be acouple of weeks before I can afford to put in the second amp

Yeah just get the splits first. Assuming you don't push your headunit too hard, you won't run into any problems. Then plug in the amp when you're ready.
