Hi Guys

I put in Kings low spring into my 2001 TJ 6/ 7 months ago. Since then my car has been driving really rough on the road.

1. It got a very hard suspension
2. It’s going side ways on the road if there are slopes on the road.
3. The wheels tries to go side ways when I press the break.
4. And during the rain, it’s really bad, I feel like I am going to loose control, if there is any water on the road. The water just grips the wheel in one side and it feels like my car is going to be out of control.

So I took my car to Pedders suspension. They looked at it and told me that I to change the front bush as it is a basic issue with Mitsubishi and I need to change the suspension system of my car.

They gave me price 1380$ fitted for the Sports Rider without the spring and the front bush fitted.

What do you think about this? Please help.

Deffinately get a second opinnion, lower/stiffer springs will make the ride of your vehicle harsher yes but it should still handle reasonably.

There's no way your car should be handling like that.. get your alignment and brakes checked.

First things first. Don't go to Pedders, they will charge you an arm and a leg.

Secondly, go to a few mechanics and them to look at it. Like cthulhu said it could just be your wheel alignment/brakes need adjusting.

sounds like you need a wheel alignment mate:)

Have you exeperimented withe rims, tyres or tyre pressures ?
eg. If you're running very low profile tyres with high pressures you couldn't expect anything other than a harsh ride.

I don't normally have a problem with Pedders but $1380 for four struts works out at $345 per corner - probably about 2-3 times what it should be - you could go to Bilsteins for that price.

2nd opinion needed.

From Pedders they said, it's the front bush that causing the problem, I took the car to mitsubishi and K-msrt tyre, they couldn't find any issue with it.

Just wondering is there any chance that it could be the steering bar that holds the bushes need to be replaced!!!

Today when I press the acclator bit hard I almost went to the side lane of the road and about to hit a car. Same thing happened when pressed the break .....................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : i am going nuts:

What happens when, if you're driving in a straight line on a flat bit of road, you take your hands off the wheel? Does it veer to one side?

Having the car try to turn left when you boot it could just be torque steer, but the fact that it does the same thing under hard brakes sounds like wheel alignment or that only one front wheel is braking.

Which bush are you talking about??? Take a photo so people can see then they will be able to help you before you pay $1300+ to pedders. I agree with the above sounds like alignment or brake issue..

Thanks Guys...

P.S. Some bloddy ..... hit my car yesterday at Grand central car park. Took some paint out of the rear bumper, couldn't trace.

When i had my car lowered the guy mentioned something about the castor not being adjustable or something (or very minimal adjustment)? Apparently when it's lowered this exagerates the problem or the issue of the part not being adjustable.

At that time the TL's were very new and nothing aftermarket was available but i believe it is now.
