Hey all,

Just a question, When do you really need use a capacitor? I've got a 200wrsm 2 channel and am going to be putting in a Response 500wrms soon, should I think about getting a Capacitor?

Also what is the difference between a 1 Farad Capacitor and a 2 Farad Capacitor?

lol man just upgrade your power cable to a 4ga, capacitors are a fire hazard waiting to happen.

You should probably have searched this topic dude, there have been a few in the past couple of months...

Most salesmen will try and sell you with for every 1kw u need a 1 farad cap... but as has been covered, they arenever necessary with todays modern amps as they all have this technology built into the power supply of the amp itself.

Im running around 2kw rms off 1 battery with no headlight dim or ground loop/altenator whine. Off a stock altenator. Grounds have been upgraded and running 0 gauge.

Spend your money where your ears will hear it. 500 w rms monoblock you'd want 4ga minimum. Always use short fat grounds.

Peace
