G'Day All My TJ 3.5 Auto has developed a small problem.
In the Morning go to start the car, cranks over, starts runs for a second then dies, turn the key starts and runs like a dream, then does it when leaving work.
only ever does it when stone cold, I think its some sort of elec problem.
also the door lock remote dosent seem to be working 100% changed the remote but every now and then wont lock or unlock the first time, dont know if there related but seemed to start playing up around the same time.
Any ideas?????
Thanks Shane

The same thing happened in my TR and it turned out to be the battery.

Yup - it certainly could be the battery.
(I had on-going stall issues with my TJ, which I eventually tracked down (http://martybugs.net/articles/magna-stall.cgi) to being bad wiring between the ECU and immobiliser.)
Cheers,
Martin.

TJs like fresh batteries, install a new one every 3 yrs max.
If your car is 2003 & older it should be overdue for a new one now.

I get this problem constantly, new battery made no difference, removing and cleaning the contacts for the BEU to Immobiliser made no difference. It's something I hate, but something I'm living with.

how did u check the battery?
All the cell show full charge, Cranks over freely every time, is just over two years old.
Dont know if its electrical or fuel, only ever does it when stone cold and once then runs fine?
