Hi!
Was wondering if anyone knows if my TH Magna Advance 3.5L have ABS? I've been looking in the manual and it say 'where fitted' so how would I know if it was fitted???
Also if I actually have ABS, does it effect anything it if I were to change my brake disc to a non genuine one?
Lastly does can anyone direct me to where I can get help in changing my fuel filter? Been trying to search the forums but couldn't find anything relavant.
Well cheers of the help guys!!!
May you all have/had a Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!!!

I believe that this particular model should have come with ABS standard.
However, short of doing a brake test to see whether she locks up, the ABS light should illuminate temporarily on your dash on start up.

Ey man I drive a TH Sports, yes she has ABS also by changing the pads/rotors will not effect the ABS at all..... If you wanna find out if you have ABS (yes it is a standard), just go out on the road and just smash the breaks at one stage (Make sure no is behind you)... you will feel the brake pedal shudder.

Hi! Thats the thing I don't see any ABS lights on start up. Not sure if this is normal or my bulb is blown. Anyone has an ABS light when you first start up your car??
Cheers!

The ABS light should definitely illuminate for a few seconds, much like your airbag and other warning lights such as oil and battery. In your case, I would replace the bulb and hopefully that should sort the problem.
My mate has a 1999 TH Advance Wagon and the ABS light illuminates for a few seconds on start up.
Here is the feature list of your car and you will see it says Anti Lock Braking is standard, as is the case with all Advance models.

Under the bonett on the passenger side you should be able to see a metal box with 4 metal tubes coming out of it. This is the ABS booster thingy isn't it??
Oh yeah, you should also have a sticker on the back windshield of your car with ABS, SRS etc.

I have a '99 TH Advance sedan, yes it has ABS + Cruise + 2SRS.
ABS modulator by Bosch lives on the firewall passenger side in engine bay,
just open your bonnet and it'll be there - big square cube size of grapefruit
with all the brake lines (aluminium metal piping) coming out of it.
Also if I actually have ABS, does it effect anything it if I were to change my brake disc to a non genuine one?
Brake discs & pads don't affect the ABS, just be careful you don't damage
the ABS sensor & wire & crownwheel when removing the disc.

Fuel filter lives next to fuel tank under the rear seat.
You might want to pickup a copy of workshop manual by Haynes or Gregorys on this,
they're pretty good.
Sedan I think its accessed via taking out the rear seat but I haven't tried yet.
(Bought new filter, its still sitting in the boot waiting for someone/me to do the job.)
I had a shot at the wagon's filter, that's accessed by jacking up the car
and it lives just above the rear axle. Need a couple of exactly suitable spanners
to get the nut joint undone, that's the hardest bit.
