hey all
just booked my Car in for a service and also to fix the noise on cold start up but then i thought why not fix it myself
the noise that this little part makes can sound like your engine is about to blow apart, some other members have thought that there water pump is going or even in some cases members have thought there cam belt is about to break
so heres what i did
Start with removing the Plastic cover 5 x 10mm bolts holding it down (this can be done with out removing the cover but it just makes things easier)

Standing at the front of the car on the left hand side of the front cam cover is the PCV valve (Positive Crankcase Ventiliation)

this is held in to the Cam cover with a small Rubber grommet and will easly come out and remove the hose from the other end also so you will be left with this

Get some carby/throttle body cleaner and give it a good spray, youll be amazed at the amount of black crap that will come out of it. also at the same time making sure the Spring is still woking that is inside it
once you feel it is clean, Reassemble and see it this helps your cold start noise i know it worked on mine
