Don't want to burst your bubble but I doubt if removing the cruise contol will increase power.
It is an old mechanic's trick to stretch the return spring on an accelerator to make it feel lighter so less foot pressure is required to get the same acceleration (or amount of throttle opening) and so give the sensation of increased power.

Sure you weren't using Shell V-Power at the time with Platinum spark plugs and a CAI? I heard those mods will increase power A LOT.

All you guys having a laugh at the dude, he said it "feels" like he has gained power and is asking what the problem might have been before the removal of the cruise control. This indicates he expects the car was restricted before, not that he thinks he has gained power.

Cruise control was restricting full movement of throttle butterfly?

Thats my guess...

thanks firestorm at least a decent answer from all the bagging i was getting. seems their wasn't full movement in the cruise control and was not getting full throttle opening. i don't know whether any body has driven a tr with this problem. but removing all those cables and replacing it with one cable makes it alot easier. yes it felt like it has more power as now the throttle is able to open as it should, hence more power and throttle response.no i wasn't using v-power just good old lpgas and good quality spark plugs

Thats my guess...

If nothing else has been done such as cleaning the gunk off the edge of the butterfly and inside the throttlebody it is likely that nothing was wrong beforehand.
Like Wrexed03 and I said - cruise control was adding extra load to the feel of the accelerator pedal - across the whole movement of the throttle.

i would imagine that it feels better because you have a lighter pedal and quite possibly full throttle now.. it could have been you cruize cable was adjusted wrong and not really letting you go W.O.T.... but thats just my guess.... and a am a lousy mech ;)

TR1, ignore the banter, some have nothing better to do.

What the issue is with the second gen systems is someone has tried to adjust it at some stage and you will not have been getting full throttle.

Yes you will be getting more power as you will now be getting WOT.

You can connect it all back up, there are 2 adjustments under the cover which have to be done box to throttle plate then pedal to throttle plate then check for WOT
