i disconnected the battery yesterday on my TL to install air horns and now my dash reading is saying number 5 or letter s ?????? i have no scroll function and the mode button does nothing. what have i done anyone know? is this a test mode or something?

have a look in your book, on my car its 'S' for sedan, that happens if the battery gets disconnected or if you blow a fuse or something, but yeah pretty sure it means sedan

Yeah, hold down MODE to select it. It should then display 3.5, hold down MODE again to select that.

i then held down mode for about 5 seconds and everything is back to normal. thanks for the replies.

When you disconnect the battery, the trip computer looses its settings and is basically
asking you what king of car it is? Is it a sedan or wagon? followed by is it a 3.0 or 3.5 etc.
Its mainly used to caliberate the trip computer fuel usage estimation.

Mine has the same problem, but won't remember its settings, once they are programmed.

None of the interior lights work, nor does the clock.

check the fuses inside the car
the ones next to the pedals
you'll have a blown one for sure
