Recently had some very unsatisfactory front end work done, suspension bushes put in back to front, bolt missing from steering knuckle, camber pins installed and moving etc, tyres wearing because of the camber being out, but now I have noticed that the near side outer brake pad has 50% more wear than the other three.
The question is....Is it possible that the alignment problems have caused the wear on one pad??

Alignment really doesn't have any effect on brake pad wear, as the whole braking system is always in-line with the wheels. I'd look at the braking system for the fault, I'm no brake specialist, but have a look if the calipers are sticking on the faulting side, check the slide pins for damage. :P

Your disk could be warped which could be the cause of un-even brake ware. Does your wheel shake when you brake under high speed or normal braking?

Reltively new rotors and pads, like a year ago, brakes have been perfect, no squeels or vibration, pulls up quickly, that's why am so surprised at the uneven wear on one pad

Check that the caliper is sliding back and forth on the slide pins.
One pad wearing more than the other usually means the caliper is not able to slide easily to self-adjust its centre. Put some high temp grease on the pins or get the calipers serviced.
