Hi Guys, I have some strange issue with my car alarm. After disabling it with the remote, it seems like it enables itself again after 30 seconds or so. I hear a short beep (the same as enabling it with the remote) and it's truely enabled because if I open a door, it's rock and roll!!
Anyone knows how that can be? Anyone has some schematic diagram of these alarms? Anyone who knows where the alarm unit is fitted in the car??

Australian standards states that alarms must have automatic immobilisation after 30 seconds... (That is for alarms that meet aus standards). This shouldnt lock your doors though, just trigger the immobiliser.
If your car is locking after 30 seconds then this is a setting that can be overidden, otherwise you risk locking your keys in the car. Read the manual, or contact the manufacturers if this is the case to find out how you can override the setting.
Peace
Tim

Yes, it is indeed a feature of the alarm that I wasn't aware of! The thing is, I had to pick something out of the boot and without enabling the alarm I realized it enabled itself. After trying eveything I could to disable the alarm for good, I suddenly found out it only turns off after inserting the ignition key and turn it to the ACC position. That's after I cut one of the wires to that noise maker because that was really ignoing! (not only for me....)
Anyways, seems like I can hook it back up :)
