Well heres some pics of my 1997 Mitsi Diamante, Slowely getn around to modifying it. Ive got to find some way of lowering it ALOT lower, its got superlow King springs in it nw and i nd to drop the front slightly more than the back. Maybe a set of 19" alloys (18s just arnt big enuf). Its got the clear side markers and VIP exhaust that sounds wicked.

Cheers guys, Im from NZ. It came with the touch screen climate, tv, etc so changing the woodgrain will be a little difficult. The pics dont have the VIP exhaust in it. It was hard to find one fully optioned with very low kms on the clock. (the slot is for a petrol card im guessing, well thats wat i use it for)

Its good to find a site for Diamantes/Magnas. We dont apear to have any kind of clubs in NZ for Diamantes or VIP cars etc. Its hard to find anything for these here.

Well im sussn a price at the moment for airbaggn it and a set of 19s and il be happy. Heres a pic of another Diamante over here in NZ he had the springs reset 4" lower, ive been told this would wreck the ride so thats a last avenue if it costs to much to air bag.

Very strange that the Diamante's over there dont have the front bumper corner lights and larger bumpers ala Aussie Verada.

And it's equally strange that they have a different centre console as well as having front seat arm rests and a rear window wiper :noway:

The different bumpers are because of the lower spec diamante based on the Magna shell
but with the Verada+ interior. Damn import rules.

Im up in Whangarei which is 2 hours north of Auckland so no snow here.

The imports we get are from japan and when there sold new over there the new buyer/owner goes through a tick sheet ticking the options he/she wants eg sunroof, leather, rear window wiper etc etc. So we get it over here as a second hand jap import and find one that has the options we like. My one came with a wicked factory sound system (factory sub), sunroof, leather, touch screen controls, 12 stacker cd, plug in for playstation/dvd, gps and super low kms (39000 genuine kms).
:) We have the same kind of options to choose from when buying a new car over here just not as many.

damn thats a pretty sweet deal.

wonder how much it will cost to import a rada or ralliart with super low ks and all that options

Ive had a couple of offers of around 10k coz of the options but im reluctant to sell. its cheap on gas and sooo nice to drive.Hey do your Magnas have tiptronic transmissions that learn your driving?? I have only seen one Ralliart Diamante that had a manual transmission over here.

Nice car, particulary the interior.:) Wish our models looked like that.

Hey, on our models, the external mirror adjustment switch is where your businss card holder is. Therefore, would I be right in assuming that your external mirror adjustment switch is on your drivers door someplace? Just wondering that's all. Thanks:cool:

yep, the mirror switch is ahead of the window switches on the drivers door.

not sure if anyone noticed, but JDM diamantes have a foot parking brake and the release is on the left of the steering wheel. and there is a cool single cupholder behind the shifter in between the seats that is for V or Redbull sized cans ;)

Also just noticed the following differences:

rear seat is slightly different to the one found in Aussie Veradas
3rd sun visor just above the rear view mirror
chrome ring around the front door speaker grilles?
no tweeters on the front doors
rectangular storage box with cover below the ignition

GDImante
29-12-2006, 03:12 PM
yep.
the armrests on the seats are there because there is a different storage box between the seats. you push a button and it opens clamshall style and the top of the box is about level with the seat cushion

i think the wipers are different too, they are semi concealed whereas they seem to be more exposed on Magna. Verada wipes seem to be semi concealed also?

It has two cup holders infront of the gear shifter under a flip up woodgrain lid and cup holders in rear seat arm rest. also has two cigerette lighter type plugs, one with the opening ashtray and one inbetween the gear shifter and rear clam style opening storage compartment.
