Hi there Magna land!

Can anybody tell me whether it is ok to use Dextron III in the power steering systems of 3rd gens.

wat eva ur manual sayz thats the only thing u can use bud. if u dont want hassle in the future:think:

Yep Dextron 3 or 4 is fine.

yep that'll work

Bottle of Castrol TQ-M (special Mitsu trans fluid) specifically says not to use in pwr steering.

Dexron 3/4 = fine

Mitsu SP3 or Castrol stuff = Big no no (apparently.....ive used it before with no issues though.)

Finally somebody that can spell 'Dexron'. lol

Yeh mixing in some of the sp3/type m/mhp fluid, with the existing dexron as a top-up, wont do any harm, but i wouldnt try use it on its own as a complete refill.
