View Full Version : Verada Rear Vission Mirror
Hi All,
I noticed today that there is a sensor at the back of the rear view mirror as well as the one
at the front. I know that the front one (facing the rear of the car) is to detect bright lights
shining in from behind but what is the one at the back of the mirror for?

the two sensors work together. the front one looks to see if its dark or light outside.
it will only dim the mirror if there is light at the back and no light at the front. park outside and put your finger over the front sensor and see.

Chers FFEEKY. For a second I thought it was a leftover for the US auto headlight system.

I love the auto dimming rear vision mirror in my Verada but i wonder why the left hand side mirror does not dim like the center and right hand side ones do?

i think its because you use the centre and right side mirror more than you use the left
and also maybe because they are closer to you so they dim to take most of the surrounding light away from you so you can consentrate on driving
i dont know im only just guessing here
Also the left one does not reflect a lot of light into the cabin as it is a convex mirror.

I was of the same impression that the passenger side morror didnt get into the drivers view as much. I do get it occasionaly but only when the person behind has stuffed lights or has them on highbeam.
You have got to love the green tint it puts on the cars behind all alien like.

I've seen it go from clear to green and to charcoal (make everthing look black & whitish).
