Just thought I'd share my experience with the new Bendix 'Ceramic Technology' pads.

As a backgound I've had much difficulty finding a brake pads that give good braking for a reasonable cost and pads that don't squeel (this is a must).

I've tried many pads and found the following:

- EBC Greenstuff: Excellent pad but at ~$250 for fronts only this is way too expensive
- Bendix Advance: Good price but squeel very badly.
- Bendix Ultimate: Great pad but also squeel. Good at high temps.
- Mitsubishi OEM: Quiet but still too expensive @ ~$115 for rears only.
- Ferrodo: Bad squeel and incredibly dusty. Wheels were black in a day.

I was very hesitant to go back to anything made by Bendix, however I thought i'd give their new compound a go.

Price for both front and rear pads was $95 (from Sprint Auto parts here in SA).

Pedal feel is excellent and initial bite is quite surprising. These pads make no noise at all (so far) and give consistently stronger braking the harder you squeeze the stop pedal. They probably wouldn't be suitable for prolonged hi temp braking, but if you're on budget, my money would be on these pads for sure.

Unless you can get something custom made in asbestos, these pads are the next best thing.

Firstly, im soooo with you on squeaking brakes, one of my pet hates...lol

my car has heaps squeaky front brakes atm, and am getting them done in the next few weeks just because they squeak...

I had bendix ultimates put in my old TE because of squeakers and never had an issue untill i sold it about 16 months later... so was thinkin of getting them again. thanks for the heads up on different set!

WOW $95 a set !!!

autObarn price is only $59.99 for GCT's and we had them on special for $49.99 last week, also GCT's are the replacement for bendix advance, very good pads from the feed back we have had at work i have had one guy with a vn commodore who claimed the GCT's shuddered on braking worse than his old pads ( make of it what you like) but oher than that they seem great and they even have a titanium stripe so no bedding in required

ive used the bendix advance in all my cars bar the golf, and ive never had any squeel. the magna had CT's where i fitted the twin pots and thought the pads could do with more bite. i would had fitted the ultimates, but i sold the magna. the golf is fitted with bosch pads and dust very little for a european car.

I'm just running the stock standard disks. I suspect if you had slotted disk, you would chew through the pads very quickly.

My experiences.

FWD Verada. single piston.

OEM: Kept on cooking my discs and warping them. No dust or noise. massive fade with a firm braking at even just 100km/h.

Ultimates: No disc warping, Average to heavy dust, little squeal noise, no fade no matter how much braking at ANY speed, but eat roters quicker than OEM. Great feeling brakes.

AWD Verada. Duel pistons.

OEM: Better than standard FWD brakes but still warped the discs. Not very confident feel at high speed braking, doesnt wear roters.

Advance: No disc warping, Little dust, very loud squealing and grinding noise at low speeds, Little if any fade at all, doesnt wear roters.

Ultimates: No disc warping, Average to heavy dust, little squeal noise, no fade no matter how much braking at ANY speed, but eat roters quicker than OEM. As the name says, Ultimate Braking with the AWD brake setup. Would never need any more stopping power.

Upgraded to Ralliart front and rear.
Rears have MM pads and I've put Bendix FWD in the front.
No squeeling, good feel. Good braking freeway and around town.
Someone told me these were replacing Ultimates.
