284 is the diameter for the rear discs at ralliart. The front is 294. (I am looking at the mitsu spec as I type)
correct hence the title dba REAR ralliart discs :D

No one is debating that. The fact that the AWD front rotors are identical to the Ralliart ones is why they don't have a seperate listing for a Ralliart front rotor. Until now - there hasn't been an aftermarket replacement for Ralliart Rear rotors available on the market.
So it's good news for Ralliart owners whose rear rotors are going to need replacing in the near future, and it's even better news for non ralliart / AWD owners who want a relatively cheap front and rear brake upgrade.

Yes these are the rear ones. The Ralliart front discs are already available same as AWD.
The rear disc was not available aftermarket anywhere but hopefully all the enquiries from AMC has prompted them to release one.
Edit
Looks like you beat me Mike

keen, would TE calipers need to be upgraded to comply with the ralliart rotors, or are they compatable?

Any 3rd gen 2wd owner wanting to upgrade will need to source some brake calipers from a Ralliart or AWD magna. They aren't exactly common items at wreckers - but they certainly aren't impossible to find.
If you manage to find a wrecked ralliart (good luck), by far the cheapest way is to buy all the brake components of the wrecked vehicle. But is far more likely you will only be able to find a wrecked AWD, in which case the rear rotors will not fit without modification.

Doesn't look like it. Probably not much point in the average Joe calling DBA directly - as I'm pretty sure they don't deal direct with the public.
Better off taking note of the part numbers and ringing around a few spare part mobs to find get an idea of the retail price on these little suckers.
There's no point in me ringing up about them yet - cause I've already got plans for this months pay cheque  .

Interesting that they are only available in the 4000 series....Im just wondering what setup people would get...ive heard some bad things about cross drilling on DBA rotors....Im thinking of maybe getting some and just sticking with the slotted setup

I've been running x-drilled DBA rotors on the front of my magna since mid 2004 and haven't had any dramas with them, and I can hardly see ventilated rotors on the rear of a magna getting that hot that they would crack between the drill holes.

According to their website - 4000 series can be either standard (no slotts or drilling), wiper slot, or cross drilled. The difference between the 4000 series and the umm "not 4000 series" seems to be the little coloured marks on the edge which indicate how hot they are  .

I chased them down today and they have not been released yet and were surprised they had been put on the net already. I was assured they are only a few weeks away (still to be turned down and made available) but they ARE coming :D. No price listing as yet and I didn't ask about types eg slotted/ cross drilled will just a little longer.

i also call them tomorrow and hassle them, today was my day off, but i'm sure i can get rough price of them if i tell them i have customers chasing them

I put the DBA4000 series wiperslot front rotors (4417WS) on my car just before xmas i payed $185each delivered for the fronts and was told "my" price for the soon to be released (42429WS) rears would be around the $150 mark.
Oh and blackbeard the "4000" series rotors have the unique "kangaroo paw" cooling fin set up in them unlike the standard rotors which have the standard straight thru cooling fins which cause hotspots (and shuddering) during hard brakeing, due to uneven cooling.
Also steve from DBA told me that the "4000 series" and "5000 2piece series" rotors are made from a more durable cast iron that can take more heat and stay stable longer than normal rotors BUT he said that they do need to be bedded in properly with some old pads preferably before fitting new pads. :)

I thought about them last time I was looking for an aftermarket rear brake rotor which fit the Ralliart specs, and at the time they didn't make one.

Those rotors in the picture are the old EBC grooved and dimpled rotors. RDA are now the distributer of them under there own name.

You know DBA is also Australian owned and make all their products.
I don't want to start any wars it just seemed to be a strange comment to make in a DBA related post.
I am getting info from RDA and will be posting that as well it's just that i couldn't access there catalogue without a login, to much effort and why do they do that?

Not here to start any wars either......i'm here to finish them ha ha hha No i just thought i would allow another option that's all and i've only heard bad reports from the DBA side of the house. Have a mate who rally's and he runs RDA.

Now for RDA
Rang RDA (toll free number) yesterday to find out more and was told that their rotors are available but they can't give me a price understandable, or product code:nuts: are their part numbers a secret ? I would have to ring a retail distributor. I asked twice if they were available so the next bit is good .
Rang my local dist and he said they weren't listed and he'd ring their distributor, he rang me back to tell me that he ended up ringing down south to try and get info and guess what? They haven't released theirs yet and don't know when they will. They have all the stuff ready to go but they aren't in production, waiting on permission fro OEM. The strange thing he did mention was that PBR were in the same situation (interesting). Wonder about DBA?
Seems like all companies are on a similar time line.
so it looks like it might go from no suppliers (mitsu excluded) to heaps :bowrofl:

well thought I'd do an update  still no go talking months now for both DBA & RDA .
Edit DBA just phoned and there is no ETA on these they are low priority.
One good thing is the Ralliart fronts give you heaps of confidence when you stand on the stop pedal :D .

Hmmm have a surprise for you phil in 2weeks (supposdly  ), so i was told by email today :D
And yes the ralliart/AWD front upgrade (even better with DBA4000 wiper slot rotors with endless pads and braided caliper lines) is a good confidence enhancer over the crap stock brakes.

I'm getting some shudder from my 294mm RDA rotor / EBC green stuff combo braking from high speed. ANy solutions other than replacing the rotors?

Get the rotors machined and fit new brake pads then gently bed the new pads (no hard braking for the first 300 or so kms) into the machined rotors also try to go away from the EBC green stuff if ya can, i tried them on my magna as well as the EBC red stuff and was disapointed in them.
Im currently using endless (front) and pagid (rear) pads on my car at the moment and they are quite good but a bit expensive, Im going to try DS2500 ferrodo pads in the front next as i was advised by both DBA and RDA that they are good pads that suit what i do with my car.
If ya go on to the MRT (middleton rally team) website www.mrtrally.com.au/forums theres a section called dba brake clinic that discusses all things to do with brakes, with some guys from various brake pad and rotor companies helping with any questions asked.
