Hi
Are the Green/Red remotes interchangeable between KH and KJ series cars? They both have the same remotes esssentially but I tried to program my spare Kj remote onto my KH but it didn't work. The spare remotes works fine and I even reprogrammed it back to the KJ.
Do these remotes recognise that they have been programmed to one particular car and therefore do not allow themselves to be reprogrammed to another?
I also have 2 other remotes of the same type but I cannot seem to make them work on either the KJ and Kh, yet my friend was sure they were working before his ride got written off.
I try to program them by turning the ignition 3 times then pressing the button on the remote as per instructions in the owners manual.
Am I missing something?
Thanks

Turn the ignition between on and accessories a few times till the indicators blink then... hit a button on each of the remotes
the indicators should blink to indicate they r programmed... press hard.

yes.

The remotes each have their own individual code; this code is learnt by the car.
The remotes do not change their code and they don't care which car has learnt them.
You can program your 1 remote to 1000s of cars if you wanted to.
I also have 2 other remotes of the same type but I cannot seem to make them work on either the KJ and Kh, yet my friend was sure they were working before his ride got written off.
If you don't mind tinkering with them, pry open their cases & check their battery is good.
They run on a single CR2032 lithium battery which pumps out 3V.
Check that their buttons still 'click' smartly, not all mushy.
These remotes also have some common failures & most do die after a few years
from either wear-n-tear, water getting in (sweat from pocket, washing machine etc)
or spilt Coke/beer etc. If the rubber buttons have worn through, that's a bad sign.
I try to program them by turning the ignition 3 times then pressing the button on the remote as per instructions in the owners manual.
Have you programmed them successfully yet even once?
Each car needs to be programmed with ALL your remotes at the ONE time.
(ie when you enter programming mode, it will FORGET all previous programming)
When the car enters programming mode your indicators flash etc etc.
You can program up to 4 remotes to each car.

No they only work for the later TH/TJ etc.
If anybody is looking for the red/green Bosch remotes, I got like a dozen still sitting on
my workbench waiting to be cleaned up, tested with new batts & new homes found.
Might be a while 'cos its too damned HOT these days to do any work.
