Hi

I am trying to program additional remotes on my KH and KJ Veradas with the electro dashs. I switch the ignition between off and on 3 times within 5 secs as per manual, yet I do NOT get the blinkers flashing for some reason as said in the book. When I press the button on the new remote (green and red type which was working on another car) nothing happens. When I press the button the existing remotes, I just get this beeping noise. Can some body help with the correct procedure?

thanks
Louis K

put working-coded key into ignition.

click to acc - ign, acc - ign, acc - ign, acc - ign

leave a ~1 sec gap between each cycle.

when cycled correctly, indicators will flash

press button on each remote that needs to be programmed.

switch key to off

remove key

and test

Hello Louis I, like you cannot get past the first step of getting the blinkers flashing no matter how many times I try-have you had any luck Regards Xi ONLY

Your car manual has the specific instructions.
Is quite easy.

same problem when i was trying to reprogram mine.
i found i was simply not going from ign to acc fast enough
turn the ignition between acc and ign three times within a 5 seconds period, and then leave at the ign position

Thanks Nick,
I have tried fast, slow and everything in between but no luck. Perhaps a problem that has been encoutered by someone else without me having to trust "A TECHNICIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

When I tried it a few weeks ago, it worked for me, and I followed the instructions in the manual. However, when I got a new remote recently, the Mitsu mechanic decided to set it for me, but he tried it over seven attempts, each time turning the key three times, before he got it right. But when I watched him he did it super fast and left it a IGN. I was about to abuse him coz I thought he was going to stuff up my ignition. He told me that from his experience he always has problems with the magnas. But I recon he did not know what he was going and did it way too fast. However when I went home and did it myself, I did it slow and deliberate, and it worked for me first time. I also think you are limited to only three remotes max. Also, you need to do it with all doors closed.

i had to do this in my last magna as the battery went dead, then another time when i had to get a new remote cause the old 1 broke. the first time i did it it worked straight away. the next time i had to do it it took me about 10 mins. the first time i did it exactly how i had done it the originally but it didn't work. i tried fast, slow, standing on 1 leg wearing parrot costume, nothing. eventually it worked. then the next time it took me about 2 goes to get it.

Just did mine with the help of this thread after the battery in my remote came adrift.
2001 TJ Magna Exec series 1,

Turned key from acc to ignition three times leaving it at ignition,
Indicators flashed,
Pressed green button on remote,
Indicators flashed again,
Turned key off.

Worked first time :D , also I did it with the drivers door open.
