Just a quick question; since i opened my dash last, on hot days and long trips my HU has started over heating... it never did it before...

Are there any normal reasons for it to do it all of a sudden? discs start skipping and it stops spelling properly

Thanks

Could be choked with wires, but I doubt it, the dash compartments on Magnas are rather voluminous, perhaps an 80mm fan will help to get some air moving? Shouldn't be more than $5 from a computer store and runs off 12v, splice it into the ciggy adaptor and away you go.

does the h/u have alittle fan on the back?
they normally overheat when there is a fault in the wiring or the unit itself
hot days are killer for audio gear in small places as they heat up alot quicker and will start to burn out parts inside the unit which might be in your case

sounds promising,
thanks chaps... i dont have to do any long trips in the near future so i'll just continue to turn it off and listen to the exhaust whenever it happens
