Hi all
I need some help
I got my car back from the smash repairs a couple of days ago and while i was happy at the time i sort of thought something didnt look the same.
After looking at my car parked in a car park today next to another tf i realised what was different. The panel beater has left a wider than normal gap between the bumper and grille/lights. All my repairs are guaranteed and i dont expect any trouble getting it sorted but i thought it would be handy to have some pics to show the guy exactly how it should look.
Cheers

Thanks .
I got off my lazy butt and scrolled through about 40 post your ride pages and got a few others that should do the trick.
Thanks Mums magna that was an angle i couldnt find and will help heaps.
You would be amazed how hard it is to find decent shots of a totally stock te tf grille and bumper. I didnt even want to go near explaining to a panel beater that paras, letterbox grilles etc etc wouldnt make any difference to where the bumper sat and yes they were the same model car.
Anyway i will print these off and deliver them to the panel beaters on monday with my car. As i said i am not really expecting any hassles but i find it is best to be prepared
Once again thanks for your help
Cheers

There should be some adjustment available at the bonnet catch and there's also
the 2 black rubber pucks that the bonnet sits on in the corners that screw up/down.
Why not have a play around with that yourself first?

The gap is between the bumper and grille. The bonnet position is fine. I did have a look to see if i could adjust the bumper position myself but couldnt see where all the mounts were. If I had to i would do it myself but considering it is their responsibility and if i happen to scratch something trying to move it myself its not their responsibility I figure it is safer to take it back and let them do it.

Take the grille out and have a look at the re-inforcement bar, it either wasn't fixed properly or they've forgotten to bolt up the middle bolt.

The panel beaters are about 3 ks from my house and to be honest it really isnt worth stuffing around doing it myself. The work is guaranteed for the life of the car so i will just let them fix it. I am a little annoyed that it wasnt done right the first time but so long as they get it right this time i am happy. I can live with it till monday and i will drop it off then and they can sort it. Annoying part is that i want to change the front bar soon anyway.

you can see the gap between the bonnet and the grill isnt even too, definately take it back.

in this pic, you can see the panel gap by the wheels is very tight, and it gets wider and wider till you could just about lose a cat in the gap under the lights!

make sure they fix it properly, and dont take any ****. to me, it is obvious it's had a repair job and it could be obvious to potential buyers when you come to sell your car, which you dont want.
sorry mate, hope it gets sorted for ya

When i saw the gap that gets larger near the wheel i was horrified but glad in a way. There is no way anyone can argue that one. I am thinking about ringing suncorp and telling them i dont want the same repairer to go near the car as the way they have left it is pretty crappy. I know they are going to tell me that the panelbeater must be given an opportunity to rectify the problem. I dont think it will take them much more than an hour if that.
