Recently bought a,

sc14 supercharger off a 1gg Toyota
550x180x76mm intercooler 2.5" inlet and outlet
2.5" piping kit
Gready ultimate ECU
Gready BOV

still to buy
extractors + full 3" exhaust
and to get the ecu wired up

Ill be removing the a/c and installing it in its spot. Im unsure of what boost it will be making running off the a/c pulley on the crank but it is very close to the toyota so i imagine about 6-8psi.
I have been hunting around for a extractors but my local exhaust shop tells me there are no extractors made for the TR/KR V6 magna's, this cant be true. Where can i find a set?
i also have to get them modified to fit around the blower
I was looking into turbo charging it but price looked well over 5k. With this setup its only costing me around 2k to complete. One of my mates is a welder so he is curently making the braket to mount the huffer complete with tensoner. As i need to have the car driving while these mods are all happeing im hopeing to have this all finished with in the next couple of mounths.
aslo im having the plastic around the dial laser cut, how do i get the white dials and the silver rings?
if i cant get the rings i can have those made too.

You know for a few hundred bux you could whack a manual gearbox in that and ill put cash on it being quicker than a suped-up Auto. The auto gearboxes in the 2nd gens are well.....crap.

A manual is on the cards after its all finished as this is the fourth auto im on at the moment and they are slow as hell. Anyone got a box or anything else i need?

having done the conversion myself on a 4 cyl tr, i seriously suggest a donor car. its a lot easier using it as a reference point and there are so many parts you wouldnt think of that u will need

Good luck with this one dude. Sounds like you've put a bit of thought into it. Hope it all works out. You know, I could have sworn RPW marketed a set of headers for the SOHC 12v V6 once upon a time. Might be worth giving Dave a call.. they (or the workshop) might still have the jig lying around.

Otherwise, I'd recommend sending Killbilly (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/member.php?u=4) a PM. He's been there, done that on the extractor front.

expect to be paying round the $1000-1200 mark for custom made mandrel extractors.
you can make them yourself if ya can be ****ed. you get a length of pipe and fill it with DRY and i mean completely DRY beach type sand. weld both ends closed and heat and bend it to shape. by having it packed tight the bends dont lose any volume. BTW if the sand is not dry when u heat the pipe the moisture will evaporate creating steam / gases followed by intense pressure in the pipe leading to a big boom.

if i can find a set i just need one pipe on the front section bent across to clear the huffer, but to what extent i dont know till i get them(looking at RPW now)

EDIT: cant seem to find a set on RPW.
My engine is the 6G72 (3.0 12v V6) will a set fit from the 6G72 24v? (i do think not)

Yeah RPW have removed their listing (sorry, should have said that, thought it was implied..) probably due to poor sales volume.

The 24v version is unlikely to fit as the 24v engine was rotated through 180 degrees compared to the 12v version so clearances won't match up.

 should of thought about that!

i might contact them next wk and see if i can still get a set

They will if they change the flange that fits to the motor. DOHC's have a rounded rectangular shaped exhaust port, whereas the SOHC's have a round one. Change the mounting flange and it'll be fine.

Edit: I'm talking about DOHC 24v 6G72 to avoid any confusion.

intercooling??
It needs to be said these engines are a bit older with lower tolerences than newer models and also a higher compression ratio; i'd just be worried about running even that mild amount of boost without it.
It'll also be hard to intercool with your piping connecting from s/c to t/b running everywhere too.

Also what about the crank pulley to fit from crank to supercharger and run all other belts?? pm if you need help with that.

There may also be a few other things but i really haven't started my research.

Good luck

Im running a 550x180x76mm intercooler as was posted in my first thread. The pipe work is pretty simple!
Dont need the crank pully as im removing the A/C and mounting the huffer in its place and in so using the A/C pully on the crank.
Im not planing on this motor lasting long ill just push it till it goes BANG! then look at building something a bit more stronger to make most of the boost.

An SC12 will prob just make 6psi, sure its not an sc14.

man i have a set of RPW race extractors on my KR.
they cost me over $1100 (!)
this is because RPW dont make them for the 2nd gens anymore due to lack of demand.
apparently the only reason i was able to get them was because a customer had broken one bank and so the other side was useless. or some crap like that.
so i got the good side and they rather nicely custom made me the other side.
so they say :D

*edit* prob should say that some of that price was due to fitting costs.
It took ages - 2nd gens are a pig to work in apparently.

if anyone in SA has a donor 2nd gen V6, i could possibly see about getting some made up by my local exhaust shop.

http://www.exhaustwizard.com.au/mufflers_files/page0002.htm

the custom gemini extractors are priced at $155, so you'd think a set of V6 ones would be around $400?

Lol @ make it go bang.
Not good for me who will want my current engine boosted without the "bang" sound.
FMIC? Cause that'd look sick man:D

was over a exhaust shop the other day was Quoted $2600 to get extrators made, a full 3" mandrel bent exhaust, twin cats, one bloody large resonator and rear cannon. this price also includes ceramic coating of the extractors.

For the moment, i reckon; port your stock manifolds.. or do you 'need' the extractors to be able to fit the s/c?

No need for extractors when you fit a supercharger - they would be 'nice' but not essential.

I finally got some time to get out in the garage last night and started to divise a way of getting all this to fit.
I got stuck in to makeing a CAI box with venting from the front bar and mounting the MAS as this is all getting moved to the other side. This ended up being a up till all hours of the morning job.
I have found a way of mounting the blower to clear the factory exhaust manifolds so if i can keep motivated the blower should be all mounted up with i the next couple of weeks.
ill try get hold of a dig cam and post up some pics.

Just a warnin, the sc14 can get pretty damn hot.
