Is the Cadence FXA-500 amp anygood, would be running some front splits, read 6's and a small sub. i'm not too knowleged in car audio stuff so yeah just wondering if good amp, i listed to heavy metal mainly so dont want too much doof doof.

Depends what you want out of it... There are better amps but you may not notice the difference. whats your budget?
What splits are you running? If they are cheaper splits I doubt you would notice the difference in amps. But if they are high end splits they will be more revealing.
What output (w RMS) does the amp in question produce.
Depending on the model; and generalising a bit here; Cadence is better than your Sony, Boss, Avalanche, Audioline type garbage. But there are many better brands out there as well.

amp is 4x100 +1x300 i havnt started on the ausio stuff yet so no splits ect, looking for a system that i can build on slowly, probaly thinking $1000 + HU i dont know much about car audio really so any help is great, but as i said i want a sound system thats good for metal, ive been told some subs are better for this ect.
