The bottom radiator tap is leaking, It's been doing it for a while on and off. Mostly when it's cold, I changed the coolant on Friday because I thought the coolant had lost it's oomph. This morning the tap was dripping, hot enough to worry the system but it's a worry. I used multi-grips to tighten the plastic tap without forcing it to tightly. That seems to have stopped it, but I really wont know till tomorrow morning.
Anyone got any ideas or warnings?

I recall the tap gizmo has O-ring seals, might need cleaning/replacing, also could be some crud in the bottom of the rad that's got into the seal, might need flushing through.Or could be a leak from another area finishing up at the drain tap.
If you have the rad with plastic tanks be careful cos they get fragile as they age, especially the top tank, and the tap should seal OK with hand tightening.
Best to fix it cos the system is likely not to pressurize properly or draw coolant back from the expansion tank.

There is a rubber "O" ring on the radiator drain plug, it's probably worn and needs renewing.
The part is a few dollars from Mitsu, even cheaper from an "O" ring mob, free even, if you show them the size.
Other than that, maybe it wasn't tightened up properly, but you shoudln't have to use pliers to tighten the plug.
Just remember to plug the hole, when removing the plug, or you might lose all your new coolant.
