Hey all,
Just changed left and right-hand outer CV boots on my 2nd Generation 3.0L V6. What a nasty job. Other cars I've worked on you have been able to take the CV joint off, but after finding this site and having a look at some of the previous posts (and a couple of hours struggling with a mallet in the wheel arch) I realised that this is, apparantly, not possible. Had to get a lift back down to Auto One to pick up some more clips and grease for the inner boots. Easy enough to pull the shafts out from the tripod joint thing, but could be so much easier...
Anyone managed to separate the CV joint from the drive shaft in situ?
Cheers.
Clarky.
