It works in the sense that it'll lower your car, whether it's safe is another issue :P.

After 3 nonsense replies I'll give a bit of info..

It's roughly the same as having your stock springs taken out and compressed. The spring retains it's original spring rate, ie how hard the spring is. This means it acts like a shorter spring, and will take less force to be fully compressed and bottom out - the same as driving with a boot full of sand bags.

Under normal circumstances you should be fine, but if you hit a decent pothole you're guarateed to bottom out and do some damage. Also I have serious doubts these would stay on your spring after it bottoms, so A. you have a lump of loose metal in your wheel well, awesome if it flies into your rim and gets smashed into the caliper or something and B. that spring will then bounce up to stock height, further unsettling the car. If this happens round a corner in the wet you'd have some fun to deal with.

For $160 more you can buy proper springs, borrow some spring compressers and do it yourself. If you can't borrow them get some from supercheap and take them back when you're done.

yeah thanks for the comments, as they say..."safety first". Maybe this will do the job. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=018&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=280067535849&rd=1&rd=1

My post could have been summarised to "they're unsafe don't use them", applying a bit of common sense could have done the same thing. If there was a $60 alternative to lower your car why would everyone pay for new springs and shocks?
