Howdy ppl, was just wondering what mods i can do to the exterior of my TF magna to improve the bland appearence.

Basically i have heard of verada grills etc, but am lookin for items which do not cost an arm or leg either.

....And before anyone says it, i am SO NOT putting ralliart stickers on my car because that is just wrong lol.

you could just put mesh in your existing grill ummm parabolic head lights depending on wether you deem the price of them to be an arm or a leg. get the side skirts colour coded if they arent.

If you've got some nice wide wheels, go the guard flaring to make it nice an meaty.

Does anyone know if u can colour code the grey plastic under the doors of the TH magna? I think it looks ugly and sticks out...

yes you can colour code em, just goto any paintshop ;)

1 - Colour code EVERYTHING!!!! sills, trolly stops, mirrors, wipers. front grill nose bit (NOT fins), front bumperbar fins (where the fog lights go) $paint + $DYI <$100 or $$$Painter <$400
2 - Rims and tyres cost a fair bit.... But will help out heaps with looks... Else you could try no hubcaps... but paint the stock rims a matt or gloss black. <$30
3 - Mesh the grill and/or the lowwer grills on the bumperbar with your choice of either a stainless mesh or a perforated round/hexagonal plate (refer DVS) <$100
4 - If you have a darker colour car then tint your rear lights DARK. <$30
5 - Tint windows <$300
6 - spring compressors on the springs.. (around $80)
7 - proper lowering springs. around $400
8 - a rear wing. colour coded <$300
9 - an exhaust tip (just the tip its cheap) <$75
10 - Sleepy eyes/tinted front lights buy some headlight covers nad paint the back of them either like sleepy eyes or with the tinting spray. <$100
11 - Neons :D full car underside <$200
12 - Mitsubishi decal for windscreen <$40
13 - If you have a TE-TH then you could get a $60 verada KE style aftermarket grill.
14 - Interior UV Lights so at night your white stuuf glows in the light :) <$60


Anyway this should give you some ideas for cheapish things for the exterior...
Include a proper muffler and tip <$300 and you will have the sound to go with the looks.

ALERT ALERT ALERT, if you don't want your car to be called rice mobile, make sure you have some performance mods to back up all your flashy things... the worst part having a rice car is that everyone wants a piece of you at the lights, because most ppl know that rice cars go no where in a hurry, so sooner or later you will start to hate being slow at the lights, but it's too late. Have some mild performance mods before heading to the rice side.

I really think your first few hundred dollars should go into Intake and Exhaust, then when your stock wheels die, get some nice 17s or 18s if you can afford, then extractors! and suspension, and chip... i think after that, you can start ricing the car up with nice looking ricers.

But fact is you DONT have to race other people...
Id rather a nice looking car.. that goes ok (and the base Magnas go ok) then spend all that money $1200 or so on a few mods and have a crap looking car.

And I wasnt telling anyone to get neons (even though I like them and have them) I was giving a list of addons that are cheap but give visual pleasure! (and yes I reckon neons are visually pleasing!)

I have neons - i also have a few new bits and pieces under the hood to make her sound and go well - and yes - a magna with wheels lowered and colour coded is all you need for a sweet smooth looking ride.

Tbutcher i know you werent telling anyone to get them but just the thought made my stomache cringe. speaking of lights and sirens... working for brisbane city council i've had some contact with the QLD EPA (environmental protection agency) and one of the chicks there said the Victorian EPA gets lights and sirens on their vehicles.. is this true??
