Probably look at getting a cheap amp to run 2 low power subs sometime soonish & was just wondering peoples opinions on US audio gear... being cheap stuff i know.. but how do they compare to some of the other cheap **** brands? (ie soundstorm, boss, jensen, etc..)
Theres a 4ch (supposed 240wrms bridged @ 4ohm) for only $188 at strath atm.

i dont know much about this stuff, but reading a few threads on caa, they tend to have a bit more respect than the other brands in the smae category ie. boss, soundtorm, rampage etc... but imo, the only "budget" stuff i would really trust is jaycar stuff, but most of it isnt really budget (bigger monos etceteraaaaa)

Yeh have been considering that... but theres a big step between $180 & $299... well with my wallet anyway :P .
If the US audio would be up to the job then i'd probably get it instead. I'm not expecting the full 240wrms (probably quoted at 14.4v anyway) i'd probably expect more around the 200-210w mark, being a cheaper brand & all.

theres an even bigger step between 299 for a jaycar amp and 4-5 grand for a new car when your us audio catches on fire:P $100 extra, and you know you have something of decent quality, that you probably wont have any troubles with and wont incinerate your car :P i know what id be getting out of the two

don't even think about ever touching U.S. Audio.
I bought a brand newie from the local Autobarn and only kept it for 3 weeks before i p*ssed it off, it heated too fast and during a long drive towards Melbourne it nearly set my boot on fire.
And this being in the first week i owned it.
All I can say is save a little extra and get something that is a well known or reasonably known brand, I have never felt better since i save an extra couple hundred and invested it into a Clarion Amp.
All depends on what you are aiming to achieve in regards to your system, i would say on a budget, wait for a sale somewhere and don't spend more than $400.
