Man you are spot on there. That's so damn true. Pisses me off
Now we have to spend oodles of time and money just to get it to be just like a stock sigma.
At least give us the self raising suspension and leather

But then again, look at the price £27,000 that's like $66,900. The Verada's were only around $49,000. So i dunno. But still, they should've sold them here like the way they were sold overseas. Shiit go.

Do any buffs out there know why this happened? Why we got left with the el-cheapo version?

We always get that in Australia. That's why imports are so popular now.

i'd imagine price would have something to do with it .. secondly some of the gadgets in the sigma might not have been in line with aussie compliance. Man i would kill to get memory seats .. my mrs is shorter than me and i can never get the drivers seat back to what it was.

the 1991 verada was just a v6 magna from memory .. no electrics nothing .. i guess it was a new shape and they were testing the waters ... thats no excuse for short changing us today still!

yeah, i was pretty surprised when i saw that. Makes the verada's look bodgy...

Stupid australian compliance. I don't understand what could go wrong with memory seats, leather, DOHC's, self leveling suspension, TCS, and a nice front bar

And what's the go with only driver's side being electric. Same thing on the supra. Driver's side only. How tight is that.

Stingie to the max

Oh well, it's all good. Guess we just have to make the most of what we got :sook:

My mates KR verada has the self leveling suspension. All still in the car but the bags have been replaced with normal struts because they kept exploding.

Well just answered my own question.

Not sure which top gear this one is as it is not the Clarkson series as that started in 2002. Might have been an old series that clarkson then took over

YOu will also notice that this is the australian body, this these shells were made here! The Jap ones are a saloon, they have no rear quater window in the rear pillar.

Apparently the self raising suspension or whatever it's called had enormous amounts of problems regarding the bags as expressed before, and the ABS had the problems with solenoids... pretty sub standard if you ask me, I'd rather just lighten up on the brake pedal when I smash down on it lol

The ECS had problems allright, it was called the idiot mechanic who did not raise the vehile all the way before lifting the car on a jack or hoist and then pinched the air bags!

THe ABS while not the best system in the world was no real problem.

I have all the eps which have been done by Clarkson. Upon some research Jeremy was a host in an earlier series of TOp Gear which got canned and then a few years later he revived it and thus we have what we have now.

A 1995 Verada XI was around the same price as a top of the line Nissan Maxima and Honda Accord, and around 3K more than a Ford Fairmont Ghia and 4K more than a Holden Calais all from 1995. To compete on price was probably the main reason why our Verada's look poverty pack compared to the Japanese models.
