Was just wondering if its possible to get the clock/ fuel information thingy (in the pic below) be put/fitted into my TH? If yes, anyone done it? Any extra wiring or modification needed?

Cheers

that looks like Jason's dash, which is the Verada unit. if i remember, he said it did take a reasonable amount of re-wiring.

not sure if the standard unit would need much tho

Yeah I was looking at some guys VRX 2001 model here in AMC. The car was blue in colour in and out damn nice ride. I love it so much! Then I saw this clock and fuel thingy. So was wondering if this can be done on my Magna TH Advance? I bet someone has done it before. Man I really need a clock! Ha ha. But if it one of those not too much trouble to install things I'll do it.

Yeah ive fitted the verada trip computer/clock into my TH sports basically its just a bolt in swap and it will work straight away but your fuel gauge will always read empty.

All i did whilst working at MMAL was trace thru a verada and magna dash loom and found that on the verada the green/yellow wire (i think its the green/yellow wire, hell it was 6yrs ago that i fitted it) doesnt run all the way to the trip computer, it stops about 40mm from it and taps into the gray wire. All i did was cut the green/yellow wire back from the trip computer plug (about 40mm) and joined it into the grey wire and presto everything works perfectly.

I'll double check which wires i joined together if i get a chance over the next few days.

Oh and to fit a TH onwards trip computer in to a TF is alot of work as none of the wiring is in the dash at all.

P.S. Just went and pulled the trip computer/clock unit  out of my car and checked what i did and YES i joined the green/yellow wire into the grey wire by cutting the green/yellow wire about 40mm back from the trip computer plug and then joined it in to the gray wire BUT DO NOT join the green/yellow wire that is left hanging out of the trip computer plug to anything, that stays unconnected (just tap it up if ya want).

So in SUMMARY the gray wire runs all the way to the trip computer/clock BUT the green/yellow wire joins into it about 40mm from the plug and what is left of the green/yellow wire hanging out of the trip computer/clock plug remains unconnected.

Also Part Number of the trip computer/clock that i used is MR908656

IF people have any questions feel free to PM me and ill try to explain it better. :D

So does the Fuel Gauge work after the wiring mod or never again.

By cutting and joining in the wires fixes the fuel gauge so that it all works perfectly, thats why you cut and join the wires that i explained.
IF you dont then thats when the fuel gauge doesnt work. :)

WTF!!! Man sorry to say I really hate Mitsubishi prices. I guess only the cars are cheap and rest cost and arm or leg maybe both! Hiaz! Well cheers for that! So look like 2nd hand is the way to go!

Or maybe I'll just go buy a Verada!! Seems alot cheaper!

Hi
Sorry to bring back this post from the dead,
Atm there are a few clock+trip comps on ebay for $40 with free postage.
I purchased one theres 2 left now.

I have searched up this topic numerously but its mainly about putting it in a TJ series 1 or Series 2.

Anyways, I have a TJ Series 1.5 VRX. so at the moment i have the Trip computer there.
Would it be pretty much plug and play for the trip computer?
I realize i dont have hte HMS buttons, so i'm wondering for the clock, i can just plug it in at 12am so I dont have to adjust the time with the HMS button..
Cheers.

Your car will be wired the same as a TJ series 1

So I think its connecting a power to the clock, and then 1 other wire change for hte fuel and done. Almost plug and play for you. No extra buttons are needed. It runs from the mode and speed alarm buttons.

In the KJ with clock in the Centre-Display, the Clock function is adjusted using the Mode/UpArrow/DownArrow buttons for the trip-computer, but adjustment is done prior to starting the car.

So, for a few weeks you begin driving, notice the clock is wrong, think "I must adjust that", and then forget to do it before you next start the car.

It CAN be done after, manual explains it, but is a lot easier to just do it when the key's in ACC.

Oh, Thanks - if its a quiet night at work, I'll try to read the manual and work out how its done! I swear, it takes me WEEKS to adjust the clock for daylight saving!

Also, slightly in my defence, I have the clock in the KJ which is my "posh/long distance" car - so only driven every couple of weeks. I'd love to add the clock into my daily TJ Sports, but it has trip computer in the cluster (I'd also rather have the trip computer up near the clock above centre vents).

It's ok, the only reason I know is because I had to change it recently (for the reasons mentioned above :P).
Spent ages trying to figure it out, couldn't be bothered reaching into the glovebox. :P

As I did end up just doing it in ACC, this is off the top of my head, but I believe it's basically something to do with holding down the MODE and ^ button, or maybe the MODE and down one - shouldn't be too hard to work out with only three buttons. ;) Then again, it's easier to just put it in ACC, and then UP for increase in hours, DOWN for increase in minutes.

In case the OP is interested, holding down MODE by itself will reset the trip computer (for a new tank for example), and holding down the UP and DOWN speed alarm buttons together for a few seconds will turn the speed alarm off.

is the clock all it has over the standard TH version or is there something else.

Don't get me wrong it looks cool but does it do any thing else
