My mates pulsar is having problem going into 2nd from 3rd it only happens going from 3rd to 2nd not the other way around or any other gears. I haven't looked at it yet and they can't explain for ****, so anyone know what I should look out for, personally i think the problems in the cabin behind the wheel. But if its not I want to know what to feel for or hear while changing gears etc...

what is the problem exactly? could need a new clutch, could need new oil, the synchroes might be gone or you may have to recon the whole gearbox.

Sounds like the synchro or bearings on second gear are worn. Common fault in Pulsars and Corollas because 2nd and 3rd are the gears everyone likes to flog.
