Recently I've developed the ever so slightest drone in my manual TL ES (executive) with stock exhaust. It's only really evident at 1800-2200rpm but off the throttle down a hill at those revs and you can hear it droning inside the cabin.

Drove 500ish ks today with only three people in the car including myself, I'm used to driving on the highway with a packed boot and 4 people and today it felt sluggish as all hell and it seems the drone is getting louder.

I'm driving the exact same amount tomorrow so I'll see if it gets any louder, but my question is... am I right assuming that it's the front muffler that's collapsed, causing the drone and massive loss of torque? I know having a straight through or a non existant front muffler causes a nice drone, and if it's collapsed or rotten that'd explain the torque loss.

If it is the front muffler, can anyone suggest a good aftermarket replacement that won't cause a drone or be loud at all, just a nicer note, and preferably bolt on (no welding needed)? I'm looking to get a lukey lr2779 soon for the rear because apparently they sound stockish on idle and cruise but give a decent note when given the boot, but combined with a front muffler will this be too loud? I wan't something barely audible but with the best note possible at high revs under load...
