have just fitted a rearvision camera in my 05 ES magna. At $345 all up fitted I strongly reccomend these things as a safety measure, reasonably priced and will surely save you reversing over a child, dog,or some other obstacle.

Get a todler to stand behind your numberplate. Then try and find them through your mirrors.

(I dont want to test it my my son)Everyone get one, as no-one could ever be aware of a toddler behind the car, better get one for the front as well incase a child runs in front of the car suddenly, oops we have eyes. Wonder what they did before reverse cameras, maybe everyone wasn't in one hell of a rush to go places.

i think it's more just eliminating any chance of something bad possibly happening. if it saves one childs life then it was worth the cost. hell, even if it stops you from running over your $1000 mountain bike it was worth the install.
Commodores certainly need one. worst rear vision for a sedan EVER. my old car completely disappeared from view when looking out the back of an SS when i was parked behind it

exactly I saw something on ACA they had people sit in a 4wd and try to spot the kids behind it. they mamnaged to hide a hole class of kids behind one. they should be madatory on things like 4wd's and trucks.

I just did and i reversed the car... mum is yelling at me and the toddler is rather still... lol
Hmmm my LCD screen has another RCA input for video, I might rig up one of these cameras, sound like a good idea, get a good look of the intercooler of the infuriated skyline tailing me as I go 40km/h down a single lane main road.
I'm thinking of getting one, I missed my wife 3 times

That $300+ quote sounds ok if including a LCD screen and all.
What about reversing sensors? No good? I know it still doesn't cover the vision problem.

I have reversing sensors in the rear bumper of my KJ and they are very helpful
They take the guesswork out of reverse parking
