The snorkel, to which I assume you refer to as 'air flow tubing' is there for CAI as standard on third gen engines. If you take that off you'll be sucking more hot engine bay air than you already are. Not a clue what you really mean though, tubing should remain the same length and volume for optimum performance, the amount of air allowed to pass through the filter is the only restriction really, the MAF is required for normal engine operation too.
@ MagTech, I love that oil catch can, how much did that set you back, and how easy to install? Looks the biz!

Nope, seat cover is from the Philippines, I ordered it the last time I got home to visit my parents. It cost me only about $100.00 and I'm sorry it's u.s. made synthetic leather.
Oil catch can-as far as I know the pcv line connected to intake plenum carries oil vapors and oil at times, adding oil to air/fuel mixture reduces the fuel octane level, which means lower combustion power. This is usually use in high performance engine but adding this in an N/A engine I believe will do a lot of benefits. Blink is just an add-on. Please correct me guys if I'm not right.

You're pretty much right on mate.. only thing is that it looks like yours is connected to the breather tube and not the PCV line mate. Not that its a bad thing, but its more beneficial on the PVC. Alot of the 2nd genners run clear $2 fuel filters on the breathers instead, which do a good job! Just replace every service or 2.

I agree with Firestorm - the catch can should be on the PCV line
It won't separate much oil where it is ATM
