Hi there

I had a bottle of Shell Eco 10/30 formula lying around so I gave my KH an oil change and used this. I note that the owners manual and the Gregorys say that 10/30 is acceptable and was in fact the factory fill.

Gotta say that the car has picked up a real noticeable increase (no this is not my imagination!!) in power, and seems to be revving freer. No untoward noises either.

I am however concerned whether the 10/30 may infact be too thin for an engine with 115k KM on it. Any members out there using this grade? If so, any problems?

thanks
LouisK

You should be fine with that mate.
Since its thinner it will be getting pumped around easier and thus getting to some places before the thicker oil may not of got to.
Stick to it and see how you go

Probably because you were running a 20w oil before.

Shell eco was not really in charts for TH but rather the TJ models. But I think its not aproblem as Shell also recommended the Fully Synthetic Ultra also.
