Hey guys... thanks for all the advice on mags... got my xr6 rims today... looks hot on the can( from my view) anyway would post up a pic of before and after.... the car feels much more responsive.. hahaa... the rims made my day.... anyway will post up the photo of it before i pop on it and upload it by lunch time... yeah...:badgrin:

one suggestion, instead of putting a spoiler on, spend the money on some lowered suspension (would probably cost about the same, will have much more of an effect)

Dont waste money on a spoiler.

Spend $220 on some lows or superlow springs and get a result like below.. Much more aggressive looking now.

Sorry to be such a wet blanket guys... but the reason for me to change from 15 to 17 is to get extra height clearance... now i can go down my carpark ram with out scratching or nearly scratching my front... any other suggestion?? anyway do u guys know where can i get the spoiler for a good price in brissy??

Heh? Unless you fitted oversized tyres (which will cause your speedo/odo to be out), you
ain't going to get extra clearance going from 15" wheel to 17" wheel as the overall diameter
must be within a certain percentage to be legal.

You would have had 205/65R15 stock giving you an OD of 647.5mm
I assume the xr6 wheels came with original tyres which would be 235/45R17 giving you an
OD of 643.3mm which is less than your stock and bringing you car 2.1mm closer to the
ground.

225/50R17 tyres would give you an OD of 656.8mm which will raise your car by 4.65mm.

hahaa... i konw it sounds silly but the car definately is higher did some marking on the wall with my side mirrors befrore and after the change of rims... the car became higher... now i get down the ramp without closing my eyes when i reach the bottom cause i wont scratch my front again...

Yup I have to agree with Huhjared! I've driven the car and help fit the rims in! I swear that its higher/ alot better clearance.

Not the mention the phenomenal grip the car has because of the tyres and rims!!!

How much higher? Are you also comparing nearly bald originals to nearly new XR6 ones?
It may also appear a little higher due to the XR6 tyres having a stiffer sidewall causing less
flex where the tyres touch the ground.

Well the XR6 tyres have slightly more rubber on them than the old tyres. The hard walls would also help. I understand in theory that it should be the same height or lower but its not. When I drove the car you can actually feel and see better becuase of the higher clearance. This is probably not for all people who use XR6 rims though just probably his tyres are abit special.
