its only about 30% complete... so i hope you don't all hate it too much lol

Have you tried it on the car to see how low it sits and how far it sticks out for driveways, speedhumps, etc.

lol the lip doesn't extend out 2 far.. its the way the bar is sitting that makes it look huge..
its only about 1"
and it drops 2 - 3 inchs on the original...
don't worry its a little like VIP but not that much..
i have 2 100mm spotties that will be going in

I graphically moved the front bar over the cars current so that the flares lined up and um... wont the front end grille n all stick out further?

Having said that, ADZA27, don't get me wrong. The bar looks great either way.

nah i have already just drawn up the modification on the bar.. and i have also modified the spotlight holes.. and moved them slightly.. (can't move them 2 far inwards... they don't fit...)

an extra 3 - 4kg from standard bar (but is strong as hell... noway it cracks at all EVER!!!)

Id be keen on making a custom rear bar as i dont think it would actually work out to be THAT much $$$ to make one.
What i wanna know is how did you make the actuall mould? like get the bumper, spray expnda foam everywhere, cut it to shape and just fibreglass over the top?

so its mouled by used bubblegum stuck togeher with sticky tape and attached to the body with superglue, then sanded down to form that shape. gotta try this, can you make a DIY on how to make a bubblegum kit? cheers.

for everyone interested in that front bar i was making.
it has now been torn from the chassis of my car courtesy of some prick in a truck.

i had my car parked on the road and "apparently" according to the 3 ppl that went and filed a police report... the truck driver pulled in front of my car for a phone call... then instead of backing up proceeded forward where the "step bar" at the back latched onto the drivers side portion of the bar ripping it clear off the car... and tearing a gash through the guard.
bent driver's side chassis rail mount... torsion twisted the bar and mounting...but here are some photo's

and before anyone asks... yes the number plates were recorded by someone however i have been informed that it doesn't match too a truck in there database.
therefore all the work gone into the front bar is worth zip...

Oh no :( So the truck driver just took off - sheesh! Some people just have no morals :rant:

Damn, what a prick! A truck backed into my dad's parked car a while back - busted a headlight or something. The driver took off, someone got the numberplate. The police traced it to a car (not a truck) that was no longer registered. Apparently it's not unheard of for dodgy truck companies to run with dodgy plates (from wrecked cars or whatever).

oh well... too bad sooo sad i guess :( nothing i can do...

its looking good to having the bar finished this weekend.
i have it in spray putty with a few minor bits and pieces... i should have it completely sprayed by saturday arvo and the spotties installed on sunday as well as fitted
so it should be ready for the NEWY cruz on the 27th
i will however post a pic during the week

...dude, photoshoot when yours is done, we'll pick some place and have a dual car photo shoot! Its my bday on the weekend otherwise id come and help you finish it, good luck with it all

anyway one last blurry photo for the road...(you will notice the colour difference) ... i showed the guy who mixed the paint and he said he would do me another batch for free... so i said forget it but i might take the into consideration when i do the full respray.

Day pic looks alot better, i know you said it isn't finished, but there's something that just doesn't sit right on that front end. the indicators don't really blend in, and the grille looks out of place too, have you thought about tinting the edges of the indicators to blend in more with the paras? Also a letterbox grille or even a KS grille would blend in abit better with the paras.
Once she's meshed and foglights are in will look good, but IMO the grille and indicators are letting it down.

*EDIT*
Actually the grille wouldn't look too bad with the indicators tinted, it would flow alot better me thinks.

yes i need to take the orange outta the indicators...
also when that kind ****wit tore the bar off a while back... he did more damage than i actually realised... the panel doesn't sit quite right.. but its barely noticeable...

Yeh looks better, but still needs some tintage on those indicators :).

I rate the chopped grill.

Just get airbags dude! Then you can hike it to 4x4 stance when you need too and gravel-collecting the rest of the time.

I went to paramatta a few weeks back and I scraped on the exit ramp there and i don't have a kit! just superlows on the front.

i would love to get bags... didn't one of the verada's have them?The KR Xi's had them, or more accurately a hybrid air-and-coil setup. Most are dead now. Called "ECS", I believe it stood for "electronic controlled suspension".

A mate of mine in the air-suspension industry may be working on some setups specifically for machpherson strut vehicles, so my car may become one of the test vehicles, setup for two different ride heights, I'd go for "stock" height plus "low" (not sure about "superlow"). Two heights is apparently very easy, more than that gets trickier, but I might work with him to add some microcontroller capabilities. Recently came across some pressure-sensor chips that might be useful, could possibly go along the accelerometer route as well for "dynamic" suspension (not sure of legalities there).
Hence my query about the ECS speedo clusters.

got clear indicators as well now! and ordered the 380 VRX ones for the sides....so after that the body is DONE until i feel like the rear bar needs doing...when you do your big respray in summer i might redo the rear bar, neaten it up a bit maybe. maybe something else like rear pods...

Just saw the blue beasty for myself and might i just say that it looks mighty fine, ladies and gentleman for the time being you will have to believe me that Adza's car looks a **** load better in person than whats been put fwd in the photos so far. Best of luck finishing it off, looking fwd to the dual photo shoot when its all done!
