I just bought a set of Lenso Tazo 17x7.5 and I'm not too sure what sort of tyres sizes will be the best for the wheels without distorting the speedometer reading. I tried searching in the internet and this is what I found, a Tyre Calculator, I think it's a must calculating for the tyres before buying a new one.

For my 17x7.5 wheels the choices are:
215x50xR17 = Diameter Difference :0.12% , Speedometer difference : 0.110% too fast
225x50xR17 = Diameter Difference :1.4% , Speedometer difference : 1.416% too slow
235x45xR17 = Diameter Difference :0.67% , Speedometer Difference : 0.661% too fast

Now I just look for the tyres with a good specs and better price. (What I have in mind right now is Nexen tyres) :think:

Any experience with Nexen tyres guys?

dont think so 17's will throw ur speedo of.

go for the 235/40/R17

215 will be to narrow for a 7.5" wide rim

235/45/R17 actually is my choice, but not final yet.

haha everyone wants the correct sized tyre until the see the prices... lol

and i agree, why pay the extra for a 215/50/17 over a 235/45/17 when there is stuff all difference :D

235/45/R17 they are the most popular and will have probably the biggest range of choice and best price.

i run 225 50 R17 on mine cant get 235 due to the rim being 7" wide so you should be able to with a 7.5" rim and the choice with the 225's and price really sucks at times.

Nice choice of rims.

When I was looking for rims for the family car (Tarago) it was either these rims (Lenso Tazo - see first post) or the rims we eventually ended up with (GMAX rims - see attached pic).

Would love to see a pic of the rims fitted when done. Will be interesting to see them on a car.
