Hey everyone,
Last night as I left for a cruise, my head unit and sub and amp worked but no speakers. What the?
Still the same this arvo with new amp and then the power completely shut off and now i have no stereo at all!!!
Wierd huh? Any ideas? Something shorting out somewhere? All fuses are in tact
Cheers

might be your remote turn on wire
just go over your wires and cables

I did all the install myself. Has worked fine for about 2 years so far. I took my headunit face off, went into work for 2 hours then came out and put the face back on and.....NOTHING! :doubt:

does the face have a dirty connection? as for your speakers not working earlier... was your amp in protection mode? maybe its shorting or over heating

Tried with a spare headunit and got a brand new amp (needed it to amp up speakers and sub) and still nothing. It worked briefly this arvo when i changed a few connections then i touched the power wire and a small bang then everything shut off and didnt come back on.
PS thanks for the help guys really appreciate it

might have blown a fuse
check the fuse box in the car on the drivers side next to your pedals
if you have a clock im guessing that it doesnt work anymore
should be a 10A or 15A fuse i think

Miraculously it is now semi-working. My next problem is this :S
I just got a 4 chanel amp in which my 6x9's are powered and my 12 inch sub bridged. The 6x9's constantly crackle and i have to turn my stereo up loud to drown out the noise. What could this be?
Thanks in advance

What brand speakers/subs/amps u running? the crackle may jst be from poor quality or cabling. Wat brand of cabling did u use?

speakers might be dead
on the other hand, we used to have a set of sony 6x9's and a little bit of crap got onto the speaker cone (how i do not know!) and when you put it on at low volumes they sounded like they were distorting but it was only a little bit of plastic rattling around on the speaker

Ok think the problem now could just be my ground wire. Gotta go get sum really fat stuff today and find a suitable location on the chassis not just the parcel shelf :S
Any ideas? (Second gen TR)
