ok heres my dillema...i had the clutch replaced about 2000kms ago by paceway mitsu in perth because it was slipping and now again i can feel the car shudder again when leaving the kerb in 1st gear  could it possibly be the engine mount or would you suspect clutch slip again???bit strange to happen so soon after having the clutch replaced. could they have stuffed the install because when they replaced it they rang me up and said that they put a new clutch in it and it was making a terrible noise so then they had to get another one and put that in... cheers for yur help

if ur not sure if it's the mounts or not just grab a torch and take a look at all 4 (engine and gearbox). If they have the slightest crack/rip or tear then more than likely it will need to be changed. It would suck to take it back to them only to find out it had nothing to do with the clutch:D
how's the oil in the box? maybe it's been burnt a little causing u to notice that there's somthing not quite right.
did they put in a new thrust fork bearing ? and did they bleed the clutch after?

Engine mounts would be my guess. Well that was what my problem was for similar gear changes.
To test engine mounts, as a mechanic friend did for me is to:
1. Open bonnet and have a friend stand at the side
2. Apply park brake and foot brake
3. Select D or 1st
4. Apply throttle and release at intervals
5. Ask your friend to see if he can see accessive engine rocking back/forth everytime you
apply the throttle.

yeah they did bleed the clutch and i think they did they put in a new thrust fork bearing but i don't have the car with me as i'm out at work so i can't have a look to see what they done.
