I'm waiting on the sale of the Crummydore to finance the replacement of the timing belt, water pump, and accessory belts on the TS, as previously mentioned. It was suggested that hoses were also good candidates for replacement in the name of reducing the likelihood of problems caused by unexpected failure.

So...which hoses are top of the list for replacement in the next round? Which hoses are pretty safe? And the big question - about how much would it cost to replace the best ones for ensuring peace of mind for a while to come?

I'd rather not spend too much (the abovementioned stuff will cost over $800, and there is the small matter of a new baby, and an upcoming wedding, so money is starting to become a consideration in itself). But I'm also happy to spend within reason if the results are worth it.

Top, and bottom radiator hoses will set you back probbaly $35-$50
Heater hoses won't set you back much either.
Replace Your thermostat and Get your radiator BACK Flushed.
Shouldnt cost ALOT To get done.

But if your $$ Consious You can always DIY, Not a hard job to do if your keen and willing with a bit of know how

I'm not real sure about the 3L... but with the 2.6's.. when ya replace one cooling system hose.. you do the lot! I think mitsu sell a complete hose kit for around the $50-60 mark for the 2.6, seeing as how its a common fault (hoses bursting). Can anybody comfirm this? and is there something similar for the 3L?

A hose kit could be the way to go if it's available for the V6, I will have to find out. Thanks for the tip.

Do them all in 1 shot, and fillup with good coolant (cost another $50).

When I did my 4cyl one at a time... within a week another hose blew
and the week after yet another squirt leak from heater hose...
two lots of nice fresh coolant onto the road.
