If you're using your lappy to hook it up then the signal going to your system is only as good as your sound card in your lapppy, if that's just a standard thing that come with it, then turning is going to be pretty useless.
But try looking at DJ Tiesto songs, Adagio for Strings is a very fast paced bass line. If you want just an every day gangsta doof bass, try Fair Exchange remix by tupac.
or better yet, get My Disc!

download a tone generator www.google.com and run a sweep, theres your range :)

else just get some bass mekaniks or something

Alternatively you could try out some of those THX Bass test songs (try find the one that goes b-b-b-b-b-b-bass!!!). Or throw a star wars DVD into your lappy playing a insane scene (ie. opening of EpIII), thats what my bro did for his old system. But you will only see mediocre results using a laptop.
