A question for 380 owners...
My car is almost at its 15,000km service point and since last week I noticed a faint squeaking from the plastic centre console (handbrake region) whenever the car goes over a bump. I was wondering if anybody else has experienced this.

Mention it to the workshop next service and tell them you want it fixed - that's what a warranty is for. :P

Just over the 11000 mark and everything is still tight as a drum for mine. I've even had the console disconnected at the back to fit the secondary power socket in the console (you have to lift the rear of the console to slip the connection cable into the handbrake area). Still no sqeaks or rattles...

Just about to have the 30'000 service done. No rattles or squeeks and no warranty issues of any note to report of.

13 000km so far and the only thing is the sunglasses holder between the sun visors can rattle a little bit on rough roads. Otherwise tight as a drum.

Yeah, come to think of it mine was rattling too but I found it was my sunnies that were rattling around....I put some padding in there and now no rattle :)

Thanks. I will mention the noise when I get the service done. Apart from that, the car is perfect and there is nothing else to complain about (apart from the suspension being too high and the wheels too small....)
Hey I finally notched up 50 posts! Not bad for 2.5 years (lazy bastard, I know).

I've had the same squeek in that area. At first I thought it was the seat belt. Not there all the time, so haven't worried to much about it.

Now that you mention it, I haven't heard it in a couple of days, but I figured it was because I always have the radio on or a CD playing (out of mind out of sight). So either it is gone (or intermittent) or its just been covered by the radio noise. I'll listen out for it tomorrow morning.
I doubt it means anything, but at what approx odometer reading did you hear your squeak?

I think it was from around 5000km. I have recently heard another one from the middle of the dash, but that to, seems to have gone away. I wonder if it has something to do with the inside temp of the car, with the plastics expanding and contracting.

Finally the squeak is no more!
I know this means nothing to anybody here now (unless you hear one too!), but I thought I may as well conclude the thread. Then the powers that be, can lock it up and throw away the key.
It wasn't the centre console or front console... it was the driver seat! I could recreate the noise by leaning back hard in the seat, which I showed the guy today at my 15,000 service. So he lubricated it and I couldn't get the noise anymore. So squeak gone.
