hey guys been thinking of what i wanna do to the car next, was thinking all crazy stuff like carputer and all that but theres no use having gadgets on a car that doesnt look good so aside from tinting and exhaust ive decided to colour code next.
Now..... whos done it themself? i will be once my mate moves in with a compressor and a spray gun.
now whats it gunna cost me roughly for.....
a) enough paint for front and back bumpers and side strips mixed up in a metallic... although i may be able to get it cheap through a mates old man im still after a rough guess.
b) all the prep stuff, paint stripper, wax and grease remover, good proper sand paper, very small amount of filler, plastic primer, primer, all that in quantities that will be big enough to do the job, dont wanna be running back to buy an overpriced can that only does 1/5 of a bumper every day.
c) enough clearcoat to do the lot well and truly.
now im happy to do it all myself as ive used a spray gun before with good results doin woodwork so im pretty set on the technique, obviously id have a test run on something disposable first.
BUT the big question.....
who has got it done at a panel beaters/ spray shop and what did that cost??? is it worth me putting in all the effort with a risk of it not turning out perfect (which for a couple of hundred$$ im willing to take) or would i be better off taking it to be done professionally.
EDIT: i'll prob need a new front bar cos mines been in an accident before i bought it and is in a sad way, whats a cheap straight one worth?
