ok guys ive a questions for all you mechanics that have done DIY's on there car or been as stupid/curious as i have been.
Is it possible to completely replace a full TF exec instrument cluster (dials and all) for a verada one without any hassles??

1st - Are they the same size to swap,

2nd - if possible, is there calibration issues and

3rd - is it a plain swap by unscrewing the the main cluster taking it out then just fitting the verada one in.

The reason im thinkin about it is that ive got massive calibration issues with my current dials as i stupidly took it apart and accidently removed the orange needles (i get curious about things and cant help myself taking things apart).
Since then i havent been able to get the needles back exactly into the right position (numerous trys) i thought that i might as well see if i could get the nice clear white backlighting and red needles of a verada instead of making do with my ugly orange needles and yellowing back bulbs.
Thanks guys any advice or recommendations would be massively appreciated.

Ed.

There's kinda alot of threads on this (one in the last week). If you've taken the needles off, the easiest solution is to take it to a speedo place to be recalibrated (only know places in SA and NSW, as I've had to do it). There are some threads on how to do, but I'd just pay the money (less than $100 usually), or get a new cluster (then the km's are wrong).

I've got a TJ II, so my experience is not much use to you (digital ODO's - different animal, you can search for the story, not very exciting, but expensive). If you want sports dials, go to the wreckers, and try it there and then. They are piss easy to change over. Pretty sure the verada's have a different loom, but you can have a look while you have got it all out.

Do all your gauges still work? If not, no speedo place will touch it - they don't want to get blamed (as each place I went to told me - all three of them). Good luck with it.
