When I first got my car it didn't really bother me that I did not come with climate control and just had regular aircon. And it still doesn't really bother me now, but I wouldn't mind converting to climate control if possible. Apart from the obvious buys which are a new dash surround for the aircon controls and the climate control unit, is there anything else? Can you just plug in the climate control unit and that's it? or is it a little more complicated?

its not as easy as it seems
theres a fair amount of work involved
your going to need all of the sensors for it too
i think someone was thinking about doing this but unsure if it went ahead

Well aircon the aircon unit just blows out hot or cold air. Climate control allows the driver to adjust the temperature of the inside the car and the unit will automatically do that. Just alot easier to use over A/C and less fidly.

A/C is manually controling how it works and blows the air around the car where as climate control does it automatically
well i think thats right?

Not easy, need the motors for changing vents and hot/cold. Lots of stuff let alone the loom would be probably be different.

I actually didn't think it would've been that complicated. Oh well, guess that blows that idea

a more accurate discription between a/c and climate control would be that as stated, air con just gives you either hot air, you can adjust how hot it is, but the inside of the car will get hotter and hotter, so you need to adjust controls every now and again, and usually only have a few fan speeds which you set manually, either slow medium or high.......same with the cooling side of it.....

climate control hoever is "set and forget", you set the temp you want via a dial and in the case of the TJ/KJ models it gives you a digital display of the temperature you have set it too, and it will obtain and maintain the temperature you have set it too - it can also automatically control the fan speed so it only blows as hard as it needs to to reach the set temp and keep it there - basically the same as a reverse cyle air conditioner in a home.....

does that explain it for you?
