Hi yall

Lol after our team had mad luck in the game of cricket ( 3 screamer catchers and have them at 8-50). One of my exhaust mounts has broken (twice) and it caused a hole in the cat piping, ive left it till i had money but it's completely snapped right at the end of the cat, also ****ing loud lol.

i need a solution so i can drive up the sunny coast, to my mates place where my car will sit until monday and i can get it fixed. I'm thinking wrap the piping as even as i can get it with a coat hanger then wrap up in a old shirt.

1) Therefore my concerns are will the shirt catch on fire as the cat get hot (not extractors hot but too hot to touch) and i defs dont want to burn down my car

2) please add any other ideas, i have to get up there as im getting a limo to the big day out from there tomorrow morning.

I can also call racq but i dont think they can help

Pls reply speedily as i want to leave soon.

I love you

peace out; aj

is it snapped off right at the cat? or before it? like along the actual pipe?

if its along the pipe, how about get a tin can, cut both ends off with tinsnips or hacksaw, slip it over both ends of the pipe and clamp it with wire or hose clamps...

Definately dont use the old shirt... just incase it does catch on fire.

Yeh sounds good... then go the hack with gaffa tape or duct tape.. it wont last long, but it should do the trick until you can get it fixed. :P Good luck mate!

Get some exuast putty. Make sure you buy the exuast specific stuff or IT WILL SMELL BAD.

hahaha @ the coke can idea. Thats mad bush mechanics style.

Can't you scape together some hose clamps that would fit over the piping?? if not - then yeah use wire to "tie" it up. If you have some gasket goo - use that too, might help you get a better seal.

Fencing tie wire would be better than a coat hanger if you can get your hands on it - alot easier to "twist" tight with a pair of pliers.

G-luck with it mate........ Personally I wouln't be driving to the sunny coast with it like that. Around town a couple of times maybe.

Don't use the gaffa or duct tape. It will burn too.

Best idea given, applause!

Then afterward you can use the coke can as a new exhaust tip, recycle!

a coke can will probably melt! It's only aluminium.

Go buy some creamed corn and tip that **** out and use that instead with fencing wire.. either way dude your going to still be loud as crap so just go do it asap and if you get pulled over be honest and tell them that your taking it up the coast so it can be left and fixed on monday - hopefully the cop wont be a toss and let you go.

made it no worries, i sat on like 80 as it was too loud otherwise... plank of wood over the break and hose clamps to hold it up... the can fell out after not long... lol

worst trip ever

Got it fixed for 30$ and bought a hi flow cat from old mate up the coast, it can get fitted when i put my new muffler on
