i attened the Toymods dyno day today at Silverwater Auto Service. huge turnout and bloody hot conditions, it was 40 degree's on the dynocell so not ideal for power readings

here's mine :D

http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/2589/img00313rj.jpg

yeah baby!!! cooler temps and running on something a little more sensible than 20 inch rims may have seen me get over 200fwkw, but im very happy and suprise a lot of people including myself.

a little concerned with the air/fuel ratio, getting very close to a dangerous level, will be on the fone to tweakit in the morning to ask them if it's ok to run like this for a few months till i get proper management. really need to tune in more fuel.

all in all a great day, very impressed with the results and know there is a lot of potential to come

Jase

good to see a positive result! i know a few people that have had them fitted were dissapointed, but i'm sure they were all auto's (and expecting higher numbers)

will be nice to see what some small tuning can do to those numbers

Nice result mate. How does that compare to your NA power output??

Can't wait to see how it responds to some tuning.

Did they run that out to the rev limiter? or just get off the gas once the power started to drop?

best N/A i ever saw was 155kw, last dyno run at auto salon was 138, mind u cummins only got 140 as well.

looks like its ecu, metho injection or CO2 fogger, exhaust as well god where do u stop? :bowrofl:

good result mate,
can't wait to see what you could get when it is fully tuned with a reasonably cool day :)

shootout mode usually gives slightly higher readouts from what i have seen. Nice figure anyway.

was thinking anything over 180, maybe 185 would have been good. but to hit 195kw straight out of the bag was fantastic, everyone was suprised.

definatly hitting the drag strip this wednesday night. dont have semi slicks so just have to run on my old 18's

Did they run that out to the rev limiter? or just get off the gas once the power started to drop?
it didnt sound like they hit rev limiter, mind you peak power is nearly at the rev limiter. i guess the guy behind the wheel had one eye on the power and one eye on the tacho. he asked at what rev does limiter kick in

haha i value my pistons too much for that :D

engine management and exhaust headers definatly on the short list, water injection not too far away

That's an awesome output! Well done!

I know you've modded one or two 6G74's though... so does the blown one have any other 'go fast' bits?

Damn jase that air/fuel ratio is all over the place, its a real worry that sprintex even release a ECU map that bad!
The sooner you can get your own ecu mapping done the better i reckon. :P

just the zorst, K&N intake setup. i gotta install my FPR try and get some more fuel into her as it was running a little lean up top at max boost. throwing the blower on a ralliart engine helps as well

will keep the 2½ inch zorst setup, but definatly need the "race spec" extractors as the ralliart headers are press bent so loosing some power there

i know mate it's ****house!!! calling them tomorrow to chuck a spack. the dyno operator said it was too lean for his liking

I don't think you'll have anything to loose by going to a 3" exhaust. You're making very similar power to me with and I've still got my 2.5" exhaust.

Makes you wonder if 195 odd kW at the wheels is the limit of what a 2.5" exhaust will flow??

my exhaust shop friend said to me today that a good 2½ inch setup will flow up to 500hp

When ive remapped mine the richest ive let mine get to is 12.9 and the leanest is 13.4, as people saw at the AMC dyno day last year, a ralliart (with mods) and a AWD VRX that had a ralliart engine fitted along with headers and full exhaust were running around 11.9 at wide open throttle whereas mine was 12.9 (this was a stock TJ1 3.5 engine with extractors and exhaust in my car but with my remaping of my ecu)

The guy at graham west dyno reckon it was spot on to where they'd set peoples magnas A/F ratio who have had a emanage fitted.

Mate make sure ya get on to sprintex and let us know how ya go (you know how i feel about them after my phone inquiry to them last week  ).

Shouldn't a boosted tune be abit richer than a N/A tune?? Just to stay on the safe side?

Not really, my dads XR6T runs 12.8 at wide open throttle and that with over 340Rwkws and they reckon thats a bit rich.

good stuff Jase...

I'm hoping to get in on a dyno day soon to see what sort of numbers mine will put up.

the rich tune is actually quite annoying... I've had a couple of people already tell me that it really stinks behind my car when I put the boot in. the best part is they're always behind me now!!! :bowrofl:

looking forward to hearing the results of your call to Sprintex.

Based on the Olympic Site temperature and pressure readings on Sunday I reckon that you would record over 225kW at standard temperature and pressure!!.

Go google dynamometer temperature compensation.
You will find an interactive calculator. Just enter the known temp and pressure at the time and see what the "standardised" output would have been.

i wish i hit 225kw at the wheels, but the dyno did have a temperature compinsater in the computer, so at a guess she's got somewhere between 190-200kw at the wheels. hopefully 225kw once im all done :D

Isn't N/A naturally aspirated? Because that thing has a Sprintex kit, which is a Supercharger if I'm not mistaken... making it forced induction. Correct me, am I shmokin?

Still, 200kw atw is good. Ive only got 188kw atw at 10psi.

How much boost are you running?

I beleive the sprintex kits run about 6-7psi standard, mostlly due to lack of an intercooler.

I guess that'd be a pretty worthwhile mod for anyone running these kits, wouldn't it? I mean, if they're seeking aftermarket ECU's, different belts, etc, to run higher boost. I know Heath Young was talking about some sort of water injection gizmo...

If you are talking of an intercooler, Heath is going down the water spray path because due to the design of the sprintex kit, it's very hard to plumb an intercooler in there without major modification. It can be done, but will require a bit of stuffing around.
