hey guys, gettin my new clutch in tomorrow and cant wait so i thought id put a thread up lol. gettin an exedy Heavy duty clutch in, cost me $230 from work (supercheap) and gettin it installed for $300 with new gear oil.
anyone had interesting experiences with their new clutches?
anythgin i need 2 know?
my current clutch is slipping like a mofo (stagma is a witness) so it might take some getting used to.

it would be a bummer to find out that ur clutch is sliping due to the slave cly not the actual clutch. but im sure you checked that before buying a new clutch:D

Make sure you bed the clutch in for 500-1000kms. No hard launches, soft gear changing and don't put any stress on it at all. You will thank yourself in the long run. I bedded mine in properly and last time I went to Willowbank my clutch fluid boiled and the clutch fried (smelt like clutch SO bad) Couldn't get it into any gear at all. Waited 15 mins for it to cool a bit and it was fine, all gears were back and it had lost none of its bite. If I haden't of bedded the clutch in I'm sure it would of fried and been stuffed, ala what GotRice is experiencing now with his new clutch.

My clutch at the moment is doing the exactly the same thing, i was slipping before and it somehow "fixed itself", master and slave cylinders thingys were replaced about 8 mounths ago so its not them

perry... you will most likely find that the plate has worn down so far that the pins are exposed and it will most likely be destroying ur pressure plate... and possibly your flywheel...
it would pay to take it out and check...
i had a similar prob with mine and it "fixed itself" i took it out and it had ripped the pressure plate to pieces... it was kinda sad to see..

well i was told by the guy who installed it, it only needed 50 -100kms max to bed in properly. he was recomended by megatron. i asked him about 500km and he said it didnt need that long. ill take it easy tho, just to make sure.
anyways went for a drive after gettin it in... damn i need to learn how to drive all over again. it bites a hell of alot earlier, revs drop faster and just performs alot better. i stalled so much tho hahahah

No he means a 3" "dumpy tip", its like a soft penis made of metal instead of the usual exhaust tip.

Actually i drive extremely sedately usually until i give it a huge burst which i didnt do until i knew the clutch was bedded in. The slipping of it towards the end of long 2hr trips under some torque but not power low rpm indicates to me i should've paid the extra and got a higher spec version.
I gained 40kwatw (nearly 50%) and the clutch is designed for the SOHC... He should be able to run 16's

3" is a bit undersized for a penis mate, chin up though.
My new muffler has twin 2.75" outlets, 5" was just gay.

anyways coming back from work today i decided it was time to give my new clutch a test run. off the lights i had longer than expected wheel spin followed by increased acceleration :D however , 1st to 2nd resulted in more wheelspin  which i was not expecting, then followed by more increased acceleration :D :D
i like...

The reason he can spin the wheels now is cause the clutch isnt slipping like a *****, it was ****ed, was probably ****ed when he got the car to, in every gear it would slip on the smallest acceleration.
Now with a clutch that grabs the wheels spin instead on the clutch slipping, it was bad

the kit i got is a heavy duty exedy clutch kit. the part number is MBK-6864HD. cost me 231 after discount, hehehe good ol discount. standar exedy kit is MBK-6864, and a heavy duty ceramic button clutch is MBK-6864HDCB. double check that in iCat but it should be right.
our store is messy as, lol, one of the worst in brizzy lol
