Ok, so me and my mate got a couple of then LED, spray things to spray the windscreen. and we connected them up, but stupidly diconected the battery. Now the car starts but i take my foot off the gas, it just stalls. NRMA tuned the idle a bit higher for now and told me 2 take it 2 a mechanic to Reset the computer. Is there a easyer way i could do this at home?? thanks

Umm.. your ecu has reset while the battery was disconnected. Take it for a drive to let it re-learn. You'll also probably need to perform the transmission relearn procedures afterwards, if you have an auto. I personally cant remember the procedure for 3rd gens.. but i'm sure somebody on here will know it.

pretty sure the autobox learns around how you drive like the ECU. being a 3rd gen, becareful when driving it cos they have a habbit(well mine did) of just stalling while they are learning

Some people complain of excessively rough shifts and altered shift points after resetting TCU & ECU's.. thats when the procedure needs to be used.

Where it tells me how much fuel and so it left, it keeps playing up, and it doesnt tell me the K's or anything. So do you's think i should bring Mitsubishi???

does the display have an S flashing? normally where the k's are shown
if so hold down the mode button then it should beep and then show 3.5, hold down the mode button again and then the k's will show

when the battery is disconnected the ECU is reset and now needs to learn how to idle
leave the car running for about 10-15mins then go for a drive for about the same time
dont gun it when waiting at the lights but drive like a grandma so the gears change down low not all over the place

No need to reset the ECU - this is what mitsubishi will do if you bring it to them anyway
Here's the link (there was a better one, but the images are no longer there

Its a few down the list. I was taught this by the sales guy at an Adelaide Mitsu dealer (he showed me on the test drive!) - ended up buy the car off him :bowrofl:. His tactics worked :D
He said to get it to 2-3000 rpm from memory, then stop. Need a straight and empty stretch of road. Either that of put up L plates! That'll scare people off :)
